Food Chains and Food Webs
This lesson aims to get students to understand what a food chain and food web are, in addition to gaining an understanding of why it is important to understand the balance in an ecosystem.
Effects of Climate Change
This lesson gets students to look at the effects of climate change on a range of scales.
Deforestation
This lesson is based around the new AQA GCSE specification. This is a lesson in the unit titled Living World. The main aim of this lesson is to cover the following element of the specification:
- Changing rates of deforestation.
- Causes of deforestation – subsistence and commercial farming, logging, road building, mineral extraction, energy development, settlement, population growth
- Impacts of deforestation – economic development, soil erosion, contribution to climate change.

The Great Barrier Reef
This is a lesson that explores the Great Barrier Reef, it aims to explore why the reef is considered one of the natural wonders of the world. In addition to this it explores the causes of the problems currently faced by the coral reef system.
Introduction to Natural Wonders
This is a lesson aimed to prepare students for a topic based around the 7 natural wonders of the world. The main body of this lesson is to get students to think about what a wonder is and where they are located in the world, before they create their own wonder of the world.
Cause and impacts of flooding
This resource aims to establish the human and physical causes of flooding, along with assessing the impacts of flooding.
Natural Causes of Climate Change
This lesson aims to get students to think about the 3 main theories behind the natural causes of climate change; Orbital Theory, Solar Output Theory and Eruption Theory.
Mitigating Climate Change
This lesson aims to get students to think about the different way we can mitigate climate change. These include; Alternative energy, carbon capture, replanting trees and international agreements.
Human Causes of Climate Change
This lesson aims to get students to think about the human causes behind climate change. It looks at the following theories; Fossil Fuel Theory, Agricultural Theory, Deforestation Theory.
Adapting to Climate Change
This lesson aims to get students to think about how we can adapt to climate change. It looks at the following adaptations; Changes in agricultural systems, managing water supply, Reducing risk from rising sea levels and changing housing design.
Mount Everest
A lesson based on a climb up Mount Everest, it allows students to develop their decision making and gain a better understanding of what mount Everest is like.
Northern Lights/Iceland
A lesson that looks at the Natural wonder that is the Northern Lights
What is Climate Change
A lesson to introduce students to a unit on Climate Change. Gets students to show their understanding of the greenhouse effect and the enhanced greenhouse effect. Students then look at the existence of climate change.
Tourism Revision (AQA A)
This is a revision lesson that was created for my year 11's based on the AQA A spec. It focuses on the following: Cities attractions, External factors, Butlers model, Blackpool, Tourism growth, Mass tourism, Managing tourism and Antarctica.
Animal Adaptation
This lesson aims to get students to understand how animals survive in different ecosystems and how the adaptations help them to survive.
Tropical Stroms
This lesson looks at what a tropical storm is, in addition to how and why they form.
KS3 Geography: TNC Build
This lesson looks at should a TNC Build a factory in an LEDC country. It encourages students to use descision making skills, and use their previous knowledge to create a constructive argument.
Depression
This lesson looks at what a depression is and how they occur, in addition to the different types of weather that are associated with it.
