25 high-frequency French ER verbs in the present tense; 6 worksheets, three differentiated conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations, in two design formats:
= Workbook Format: 10-page workbook, with cover page, verbs lists, six worksheets and Notes, Next Steps and New Verbs page, where students note any points they’d like to work more on, map their progress and list any new French ER verbs they learn, which helps them develop a really useful French verb bank.
= Worksheet Format: worksheets can be printed out individually, or as a pack without the cover page, verbs lists and progress template, useful for quick revision, refresher, starters / finishers, and also generally saves on prep costs
The answer key is a separate file with six pages, and I generally print this out as a pack for classwork, with groups of students sharing an individual pack.
The worksheets also address a broad range of vocabulary and grammar points, such as direct / indirect object pronouns, negative sentences, use of depuis & present tense and various question formats. Students may not have engaged with all the language used at this stage, and this makes the activity equally about engaging with new language, as well as practising and reinforcing the current language focus.
There are three differentiated conjugation challenges:
= Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in sentence format across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding translation. Translating accurately is an important skill for language learners to engage with and master, and this kind of focused practice is really useful for them.
= Conjugation Challenge 2: straightforward conjugation drill: each question gives a French infinitive and a target pronoun. Students write the corresponding French verb conjugation.
= Conjugation Challenge 3: mirrors Challenge 1, with an increased challenge. Students write the French translation from a basic English sentence, to ensure that they are able to produce as well as recognise both the correct conjugation and an accurate translation.

The set features a range of high-frequency German Christmas vocabulary, useful either as an introduction to, or consolidation of, the target language. Students can also develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their general German language skills in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. The questions are differentiated, and are aimed at advanced beginner German students. They address not only German numbers 0-31, German mathematical language and German Christmas vocabulary, but also a broad range of grammar points, such as adjectival endings, definite and indefinite articles and German cases.
All the questions are in German, with the Christmas images providing students with visual learning support. The Christmas vocabulary and images help to develop students’ awareness of a range of Christmas traditions and figures in German-speaking countries, such as Sankt Nikolaus and Knecht Ruprecht, and are also really useful for stimulating discussion about German Christmas practices and customs. This is a great alternative to more standard presentations and worksheets. Students also enjoy talking about other Christmas traditions they know or follow.
The resource comprises the following non-editable files:
= 48 differentiated question cards - laminate if possible, as they will remain in excellent condition for years
= answer key - this can also be laminated, and shared among groups of students for class work
= answer recording sheet - simply print as many as your particular groups need. My students generally use their class workbooks for working out and noting responses, though recording sheets are definitely useful for more formal assessment purposes.

PRIMARY GERMAN KS3 GERMAN NUMBERS GAMES ACTIVITIES German Numbers 0-31 I have, Who has… ? This is a whole-group lively & communicative language learning game, perfect for practising, reinforcing & refreshing how to count from 0 - 31 in German. The game has a***multi-skill focus: listening, speaking & reading out loud***, with an important bonus focus on social interaction and participation. It’s perfect for pronunciation practice too.
The aim of the game is to create a German number chain as quickly as possible, starting with the first card null, and ending with the final card, einunddreißig. The game works just as well if the number sequence is placed on the floor, a longish table, or other flat surface. I created the game for my young beginner German learners, but I’ve also played the game with my adult German learners, who really enjoy it too. The design is four cards per page, which allows for a large font - this is really important for beginner language learners who are starting to familiarize themselves with the written word, and how to link sound with spelling. Try to print in colour if you can - it adds to the visual appeal of the game, which is a real motivator for learning - and the monster theme is popular with all ages and grades!
Download, print out, laminate, cut out & shuffle the cards. I’d definitely recommend you laminate the cards, despite the extra prep and expense. They’re far more learner-friendly, and they will last for absolutely years. Distribute the cards, one or two per student, depending on how many students you have in your group. I often play too - students really do enjoy it when I join in, and they seem to work that little harder on their concentration, pronunciation and reading out loud skills. Students walk around the room, talking to each other in their best German accent, sharing the information on their cards, until they have arranged the numbers in the correct order. The game works best played against a timer, regularly over a longer-term series of lessons - can students beat beat their own time record? I always do some high-speed counting warm-up activities, forwards & backwards, to get everyone ready to play!

PRIMARY FRENCH KS2 FRENCH NUMBERS 0-21 WORD WALL It’s easy to create an instant introduction to French Numbers 0-21 with this set of word wall cards, featuring beginning numbers that I like to share with my young learners of French. They’re really useful during the introduction phase, and we also use them for developing language skills and awareness in general. We like to do number guessing and calculation games at regular intervals too.
There are two cards per 8.5 x 11 (A4) page in landscape format - the words are definitely big enough for children to be able to read - we do lots of guessing and mental math games, using these as a visual prompt. Although I tend to get my students to prepare the word wall header, I’ve included one here, as we often have both on our wall. There are two backgrounds to choose from - French flag or black wave. The cards to look great in colour, but are still really nice if you prefer to print in B&W to keep costs down. I definitely recommend that you print on card stock and/or laminate as it’s definitely worth the extra prep time and expense. The word wall cards hang really nicely, and they remain in excellent condition for a long time, so you’ll be able to use the***French Numbers Word Wall*** for years.

PRIMARY SPANISH KS2 SPANISH KS3 SPANISH SPANISH COLOURS FLASHCARDS POSTERS Los colores en español 8 posters / flashcards These 4***adjectival agreement*** posters, with a focus on the colour verde, make an ideal grammar and speaking prompt in the Spanish classroom - for example, I encourage students to look carefully at the differences between el monstruo verde and los monstruos verdes. Giving learners the opportunity to look very closely at language, to identify similarities and differences with their first language, as well as rules and patterns in the target language, is a really key language teaching and learning strategy. I use high-frequency beginner Spanish vocabulary to do this. As students build their vocabulary, with increasing understanding of gender and gender agreement, they are able to apply those rules and patterns to new language. I use questions such as Verdadero o falso? El monstruo verdes? , really emphasizing pronunciation, so that they can hear the difference in agreement. I often write the questions on the whiteboard too, as it’s equally important that they are able to***recognise the differences in the written words*** too, and to link sound with spelling .
Use them as flashcards to introduce and practice language too - it’s a traditional and successful low-tech teaching method, which gives students a welcome break from the whiteboard - varying teaching methodologies in the language learning classroom is always a good idea, and I also encourage my students to take the role of the teacher too, which they find really motivating.
It doesn’t matter if this particular language doesn’t feature in your immediate or even longer-term learning plan: the flashcards / posters provide learners with daily opportunities to engage with the written word in Spanish, to develop their recognition and recall of individual words, to identify cognates and near-cognates, and to begin to link spelling with sound in Spanish.
There are two backgrounds to choose from - either the Spanish flag, or black wave. Laminate the flashcards / posters if possible - they’ll hang really nicely, stay in good shape, and you’ll be able to use them for many years to come!

Really helps to create a lively language learning environment. Students develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their understanding and knowledge of how to tell time in GERMAN in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. The cards, card templates and accompanying Recall and Write challenges have a bonus multi-focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, writing and spelling. Encourage students to reflect on their progress, and note targets for improvement using the Notes & Next Steps template - it's a great learning habit for students to develop from an early age.
This set includes a range of games and activities featuring the clock times o’clock and half past the hour. Students can play alone, in pairs or in small-groups. There are lots of whole-group games to play too. The games and activities are particularly useful as a set of either homework or revision activities as students prepare for exams and progress to new stages in their GERMAN learning programme. I’ve used Wie spät ist es? as well as Wie viel Uhr ist es? so that students can see that both are used.
The accompanying Reference, Recall and Write workbook includes a GERMAN to English time phrase and clock face reference workbook, which students find useful as a learning support resource.

EFL ESL ENGLISH NUMBERS 0-100 LIST Create an instant reference resource for students focusing on high-frequency beginner English vocabulary. I’ve found that these kinds of reference lists are a really successful learning support resource, and are really popular with students too. They work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. I designed this specifically for my young and/or beginning learners of English, and it’s suitable for a range of ages and learning stages.
There are two backgrounds to choose from - England flag, which I often use for display in the EFL ESL ELL classroom, or black wave. The numbers are written across single page in landscape format - I use this for more experienced English learners, who are a little more comfortable with reading in***English***- the font is fairly small.

ESL EFL ENGLISH VERBS LIST reference resource for students focusing on high-frequency English verbs. I’ve found that the lists are a great learning support resource, and they’re really popular with students too. They work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class.
This list is a collection of 100 high-frequency and common English verbs that students generally need in the advanced beginning to intermediate stages of their English Language learning programmes. It includes regular and irregular verbs, with some modals. They are all in the infinitive form - it’s an important step in learning is to ensure that students quickly develop a useful vocabulary bank, are able to recognize English verbs, and are confident with the meaning of those verbs - at that point we can move swiftly on to looking at conjugation and using the verbs in a communicative and practical context. Students shouldn’t take on the task of learning the verbs all at once though - this is more of a longer-term reference resource that students can use to audit their developing English verb vocabulary.
There are two backgrounds to choose from - England flag (which I tend to use as part of a grammar display), and black wave - students tell me that this makes vocab lists more visually appealing, which is really useful when they’ve got a lot of vocab to work through and learn.

KS3 GERMAN PRIMARY GERMAN KS4 GERMAN GREETINGS BUNTING BANNERS It’s great to create a new look for the new school year - I use bunting/banners not only to create a real German look and feel in the learning environment, but also to promote everyday language and core vocabulary for learners of all ages. Bunting works well throughout the entire school year, but definitely has a celebratory back to school feel! The bunting has a small tag that you can clip to a line of string across the room (like a washing line!), or to a wall.

GCSE GERMAN DOMINOES GAMES High-frequency German verbs dominoes games: 3 games and challenges are a lively alternative to more traditional grammar & vocabulary ‘drilling’ activities. They will help students build up and embed their vocabulary and knowledge of high-frequency German verbs in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. There are 99 common German verbs in the infinitive form, along with the corresponding English verbs. Students can work happily challenging themselves and each other to create a perfect domino bilingual verb sequence, on the classroom floor, or on a long(ish) table, by matching the German and English verbs. The game has a bonus multi-focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, and reading, and also helps students identify cognates and words that may look similar to English, but mean something different.
There are three games, each with a different level of challenge:
Challenge One features the verbs in alphabetical order, German to English
Challenge Two features the verbs in random order, also German to English
Challenge Three again features the verbs in random order, but this time from English to German, which works a little different in terms of vocab recall
There’s a full alphabetical German-English verb list, which students find really useful as they begin to build and embed their verb vocabulary - we find it useful to have a quick look through the list prior to playing for the first time, and it’s also really good for some additional whole-group pronunciation practice. Each challenge is on a different background, so that they can be easily identified.
To ensure successful learning, play regularly as you work with verbs and vocabulary - against a timer in teams works well to map both improved recall and word recognition, as well as increasing confidence - students genuinely enjoy seeing if they can beat their own time record. Dominoes games work really well in language learning as a free-choice activity - I have folders of resources for students to select their own activity, according to what they feel they would most like to revisit. We have free-choice activity time every few lessons for a half hour or so, which also provides a welcome break from the particular target focus.
There’s definitely prep involved - printing and cutting out. I always laminate my dominoes games, as they’re far more learner-friendly, and they last for absolutely years, so once you’re prepped the set or several sets, you will never have to prep the games again.

GCSE ITALIAN KS4 ITALIAN KS3 ITALIAN VERBS CONJUGATION PRACTICE FREE SAMPLER I’ve created a lot of ‘quick conjugation workbooks’ for my students and they’re really popular and effective. They’re a great way of practising, reinforcing and revising how to conjugate all the various verb groups, tenses and moods in Italian. I use them in a range of learning contexts such as independent work either in class time or at home, holiday refresher work, or individual activities for cover lessons. Students really benefit from several opportunities to work through the workbooks, once or twice a term across a whole school year is a great way of both mapping progress and developing overall understanding and competence.
The workbooks focus on specific 25 essential Italian verbs in a range of tenses. They include modals, regular, and irregular verbs. Each workbook is structured as follows:
Two alphabetical verb reference lists: Italian : English and English : Italian
Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations:
Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation.
Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in Italian, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation.
Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding Italian verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt.
Notes and Next Steps sheet, which encourages students to think about how their understanding of Italian conjugation works, what progress they have made, what their targets for improvement might realistically be, and what they might reasonably do in order to meet those targets.

PRIMARY ITALIAN KS3 ITALIAN DAYS OF THE WEEK WORD SEARCH Word searches are a fabulous way of encouraging learners to engage with the written word in Italian, refreshing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This freebie features a word search focusing on the days of the week in Italian, key beginner vocabulary for Italian learners.
This search grid is***Italian to English***, where learners are prompted with the Italian words, and look for them in Italian in the grid. For additional consolidation, the grid also features an English word list that they have to complete, really putting students’ knowledge to the test! Students can tell in which direction the words are written by looking at the arrow key on each grid. Having a good bilingual dictionary to hand is also a good idea, as this provides a further focus on developing literacy in both Italian and English, and facilitates learner independence.
There is an answer grid for the word search, so that students can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it. Answer keys also provide students with an additional opportunity to engage with language, and they’re a great teacher time-saver too, which is always a good thing! The word search is in landscape format, as I’ve found this to be the best format for English-speaking beginner learners of Italian, as it mirrors the common direction of reading from left to right. This kind of activity is really versatile too, I use them as starters, refreshers, plenaries or fun-time fillers at any time during the school year, as well as when I’m introducing days of the week in Italian.

PRIMARY ITALIAN KS3 ITALIAN VOCABULARY DAYS, MONTHS, SEASONS I create a lot of essential vocab lists for my language students, as they find them really useful, both in the classroom and at home. The lists work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. There are two backgrounds to choose from - Italian flag, which I tend to use for target vocabulary display, or black wave. I use a background for vocabulary lists quite a lot, because it does make them more visually appealing, which is really important for language learners who do have a lot of vocabulary to learn.
