i made these to encourage the children to learn their bonds to 20 using numicon as a visual aid. find the shirt number and then add the missing piece to make 20. you can then record the addition and inverse operation facts in your book!

A card game to spot the initial sound. all you need to do is print and laminate then add pegs to the phonics table. can they spot the sound. also supports that pincer movement skills to open and close pegs! the only cards which have only 1 sound is "i'' i didn't want to confuse with ice cream icicle as these sounds sent 'i' will be making more- these took a while!! phase 3 sounds (J , v ,w,x, y z and qu, already on this set)

Two sets of Count & Clip Cards activity to practice and reinforce 1:1 counting skills and number recognition. 1-10 west and 10- 20 set. An added bonus is that little fine motor muscles are being strengthened plus those pegs can be a little tricky so also works on their persistence skills too! HOW TO PLAY: print the cards and laminate count each item- i use whiteboard pens so they can cross them off as they count clip the correct number pick a new card!

Here’s how to play Big Bad Mouse! • Print, laminate and cut out all of the cards. • If you want to do it weekly print the cards which you want to consolidate and add each week as you go. • Bundle them into a deck of cards and shuffle. • Turn the cards face down on the table. Children take it in turns to turn over the top card. • If the child can read it then he/she can keep it. • If a child gets the “Big Bad Mouse” card then he/she must give back all of the cards and place back in the forest!! The winner is the person with the most cards at the end of the game. We also have a mat where the returned cards go rather than back into the pile to make the game shorter!

Swop Seats rules This game supports children reading phase 4 and phase 5 decodable and tricky words. Place the cards face down in a pile. Children to start with no cards Pick one up and read it- if the read keep it, put at bottom of pile if cant! (although we do help rad them!) If you pick up the Fog on a stool- swop seats with someone on the table or playing the game. (look out for the most cards! Pick up a write it , spell it card and see how many times you can write it down ! Spell out loud/ spell to the person next to you. Play until the cards have all been used. Winner is the player with the most cards! a fun way to learn to read these weds with a spot of spelling!
