Hello, I'm an RS teacher at high school in the North West. I aim to create resources that are robust and effective in preparing children for GCSE (mostly) and A-Level (less frequent as my HoD. is excellent at this!). I prepare resources for each of the two exam papers that my pupils sit - Edexcel Spec. B Christianity for paper 1 and Islam for paper 2. My focus is mainly exam preparation. I will offer things individually, and create bundles too. Thanks, please review & critique!

GCSE RS Exam practice Edexcel Christian Beliefs

(2)
**Exam practice for RS GCSE for Edexcel. Every topic covered in a, b, c and d question format. ** Christian beliefs. I created these write on sheets to put on the wall in my classroom for pupils to help themselves to for revision. These have proven very popular with our GCSE pupils from years 9 through to year 11. They are multi-functional for pupils revision as some will use them as summative tests after they have revised a topic. Whereas others use them as direction prompts for where to focus their revision, and then they answer the questions as they go. I have had many past GCSE pupils use these as a central part of their revision and come away with excellent results. Each chapter of the spec. is covered with a full complement of possible questions for the pupils to prepare for their exams with. I have not written mark schemes for these as they can be marked (if you/the pupil wishes) using revision notes/text books. Often as they are a revision tool the are not presented for marking. The format I decided on for the d question is to ask the pupils to present evidence for their thesis, rather than argue for and against. This is because I find that the pupils are more likely to include judgement in their answers if they are supporting their own position - and highlighting the weakness in their own opponents. This is for the questions on Christan beliefs ONLY. Thanks.

GCSE RS Foundation Revision Christian Beliefs

Revision book in ‘Pupil Speak’ for those aiming at breaking through from a grade 3 to a grade 4 or even 5. Christian Beliefs This is written in a very ‘chatty’ informal manner, and is aimed at keeping the fundamental information fresh and accessible. As the course has a great amount of detail this still touches every element, although it is not exhaustive. There are images (Google sourced) linked to each of the key topics, words/terms and these are linked to the information as much as possible in the body of the text. This is intended to add interest to revision and make important information easier to recall and retrieve. There are also tables, charts, diagrams and other visuals to keep pupils from getting overwhelmed by the amount of information that is needed. I am aware that a great amount of the material for the pupils, just on the edge of the passing grades, is too difficult to access, and even though this is very ‘full’ my hope is that it helps ease pupils through some of the more tricky areas. This resource is for the Christian beliefs section ONLY. I have made this section freely available and then the other sections for the Christianity paper will be for sale. (The revision material for the Islam paper is currently being written) I hope it helps your pupils.

Keyword retrieval - GCSE RS Edexcel Christianity

Keyword retrieval tasks for GCSE RS. There are A-Z sheets for both Christianity and Islam A random **‘Brain Dump’ **task. Four Dice Dice Remember sheets - for each of the four sections in the Christianity Spec. B paper. These are based on the Roll and Retrieve Grids that are popular. The Keyword Grids are more topic specific tasks which is why there are multiple sheets per unit. The Rolling Vocab. grid is a more broad catch-all and the pupils own knowledge will determine where they go with this. I find it useful after a task like this for the pupils to review the keywords that they DID NOT use - as these will be the ones that are not at the forefront of their minds. I have uploaded these as Word documents so you are more able to adapt them to suit the needs of your classes. Hope these are as helpful to your pupils as they have been for mine.

This is a resource to assist in exam preparation. I have done 4 a style questions, 4 b style questions, 3 c style questions and 2 d style questions for each of the eight chapters in the four sections of the Christianity paper: Christian beliefs, Marriage and the family, Living the Christian life, Matters of life and death. Each is laid out as a workbook - so the pupils can use the lines provided for their practice. There are a lot of pages per booklet - so I’m using these as a reference for now. Spot any mistakes, please let me know and I’ll make corrections! Thanks.
