Questions include a mixture of questions in which the denominators are the same while others include mixed denominators. Included is a PowerPoint which can be used to introduce and reinforce the activities included within the worksheets. This lesson follows on from children converting improper and mixed fractions previously.

A fun filled Maths investigation which investigates Parallel and Perpendicular Lines. Children explore the school, school grounds taking photographs/pictures of Parallel and Perpendicular Lines they have identified throughout the school. Children investigate a range of 2D shapes and identify/highlight the Parallel and Perpendicular Lines within them before completing a straw challenge/investigation in which they create their own series of shapes that contains a given quantity of Parallel and Perpendicular Lines. You will need packs of straws and IPads for parts of this lesson.
