One of the hardest elements of teaching can be finding good quality resources that don't overcomplicate what you are teaching. I am all about breaking down resources into small steps so children understand whilst also appreciating teachers don't need too much or overcomplicated material to deliver their lessons. A range of tried and tested English, maths and wider curriculum resources focused on Years 4, 5 and 6. High quality resources from an experienced primary teacher.

Retrieval activity that focuses on chapter one of Ted Hughes the Iron Man book. Great activity at the start of the book that focuses on the retrieve and record reading domain. Questions are presented in different ways such as recording full answers, ticking answers, matching up answers and true/false statements. A retrieval resource kept simple. Also includes a notebook that cover retrieval and shows each question on a slide so you can go through it with the whole class after they complete.

Reading comprehension task created for Years 5-6 pupils on the contents of Marcus Rashford’s letter to parliament campaigning about child food poverty. This is a great to use when delivering a persuasive writing unit. Comprehension questions are focused on a range of retrieval style questions, inference and language choice. The letter wrote to parliament is attached and linked here which he posted on twitter: https://twitter.com/MarcusRashford/status/1272302819819823105 This has had really good outcomes when reading from a formal text and comprehending.
