Take the stress and intimidation out of Self Portrait drawing by getting your students thinking about what represents them, rather than what they look like!
This printable activity is suited to all ages and encourages students to think about how they can represent themselves with symbols and objects.
It is suited to all drawing levels and can be incorporated into a Unit of Work, used as a stand-alone task for early finishers, set as homework, or used by casual teachers.
You can easily extend on this task by having students annotate their drawing with explanations for their choices, or use the activity as a draft for a much larger Self Portrait artwork.
Download includes: 1 page PDF file with general instructions and an annotated example in the bottom right-hand corner of the worksheet.

This guided research template/worksheet allows students to keep relevant, organised notes about any Art Movement studied in class. This template/worksheet will help take the stress out of knowing what information to research and how to categorise the information for later use or study notes.
The resource includes both US and UK versions of the student template/worksheet and teacher/student completed sample.
Sections are broken down into manageable categories;
Name of the art movement
Period the art movement was active
Where the art movement began (world location)
What inspired the art movement to begin, and why
The prominent art forms that emerged from the art movement
The style and characteristics that make the art movement recognisable
Space to list the names of 3 artists and artworks to emerge from this art movement
ADDITIONAL NOTES

Celebrate Halloween with this easy-to-follow drawing task. The presentation has step-by-step instructions with diagrams and explanations for your students to follow.
Simply display the presentation on a whiteboard/smart board and move through each step as it is achieved - this will give you the freedom to move around the room and assist students as required. Alternatively, you could use a copy of the instructions to teach the drawing to your class.
The initial drawing is mapped out using squares and rectangles, so it is suitable for a range of skill levels and abilities. The last page of the presentation has samples of student work that has been coloured in - so you have the option to keep the drawing as a stand-alone task, or allow your students to apply colour to their Zombie!
Please note that the mov. file included is a compressed version (6-second duration) of each step that has been mapped out in the presentation. The mov. file has been included to ‘spark interest’ in the activity should you wish to do so - it is not suitable to use as a guide on how to draw the Zombie.
INCLUDED:
24-page presentation - PDF File
mov. file to ‘spark interest’ act as a ‘hook’ to engage students in the activity.
