This will be all you need to deliver the fifth unit - 1.1.e - The Effects of Exercise on the Body Systems.
This resource contains the following:
A 80 slide powerpoint covering all aspects of the specification for the unit. This powerpoint contains learning outcomes, all the necessary information for notes, interactive tasks, embedded video clips, whiteboard activities, exam questions, two mini quizzes, 6 mark question tips and the answers to the tasks featured in the workbook. The powerpoint and workbook correspond so there is nothing you need to do other than print the documents.
A 27 page all-in-one workbook created to be completed alongside the powerpoint. This features learning outcomes to self assess against, space to take notes, graph work, fun tasks, assessment opportunities, a 6 mark question and opportunities to apply knowledge to sporting examples. For this unit I have also introduced boxes for AO1, AO2 and AO3’s to allow students to clearly recognise each one and the structure. My aim is that this will enable students to write with this structure easier during tests and access the higher marks.
A ‘name and explain grid’. In this activity students will highlight whether the 25 effects listed in the grid are short or long term effects, they will also identify which system they belong too. On the reverse side they will explain each effect. This task is easy to differentiate as I have some students give sporting examples and evaluate the importance whilst others just explain the effects.
A topic test to be completed at the end of the unit. This contains the questions released by OCR as well as some that have been created for the unit to test each part of the specification. It also includes a 6 mark question. The test is out of 25 marks and the answers feature on the powerpoint to go through with students, I have wrote model answers as well as the OCR mark scheme.
A keywords sheet to be completed at the beginning and then the end of the unit. This is a handy revision tool for students as they can keep the keywords together. It also allows them to see what they have learnt throughout the unit.
This unit has been created in line with the specification and covers each section.
I have not made this resource just to sell it, I take pride in making sure my resources are great and I will be delivering these units myself this year.

3 six mark question sheets featuring a six mark question. These feature varying scaffolds and will allow you to give more support to some students and hopefully allow them to access the higher marks whilst all completing the same task.
3 test your knowledge grids, again these are differentiated so that there is an easy, medium and hard version.
A set of top trump cards for an activity detailed in the powerpoint. Students complete the figures on the cards by discussing the importance of each component in relation to that sports person. They also create their own for their own sport. Then they play against one another, discussing the components and reinforcing their knowledge.
A practical fitness testing worksheet for a practical lesson where students take part in fitness testing. Students record their scores on their sheet and will copy these up neatly into their workbooks when discussing each component. This is to avoid them having to take their workbook out of the class room and to keep their work neat.
This unit has been created in line with the specification and covers each section.

Based on their target grade students complete four differentiated questions. Students have a choice of nine questions which are banded into difficulty. The bands that they answer the questions from are determined by their target grade but students can choose to push them selves and are still offered choice with three questions in each band.
For example a student with a target grade of 6 would be expected to answer 1 question from band D (hardest), 2 from band C (middle) and 1 from band B (easiest).
The questions require them to practice various skills such as explaining (band B), applying to sport (band C) and evaluating (band D).

This is a 14 page workbook which students can work through alongside a trampolining unit.
The workbook features details on how a unit can be run, we have students in ability groups of three, working on a trampoline with other groups of similar ability, this allows the teacher to differentiate much easier. The different roles detailed are performer, cameraman, coach and spotter/assistant coach.
The workbook then features assessment criteria and pages detailing the progressions, teaching points and ways of correctly common errors on the following skills; straight bouncing, stopping, shape jumps, seat landings, half/full twists, front landings, back landings, swivel hips and twisting from/into landings.
Towards the back of the booklet there are three routines which students can practice. There is then space for students to create their own ten bounce routines. Finally on the back of the booklet there is a table for students to record the skills they can complete. In this table there is a column which requires students to write the feedback they received from their coach (peer) on how they think they could improve further. I use the Sainsburys athletics criteria to read out the bronze, silver and gold scores and students tick which category they are in. Within this table there are gaps for extra skills that may be taught in the unit.
Students enjoy using the booklets and they give them an ownership of learning. Students use the booklets to coach their group members to improve. These booklets also get students into good routines as when we use them we follow the same structure each week.

Please search ‘GCSE PE Revision Workbook for Units 1.1.1 - 1.1.5 based on Andy Murray (for Edexcel)’ for the first part of the course booklet.
This is a 32 page revision workbook which allows students to revise units 1.2.1, 1.2.2, 1.2.3, 1.2.4 and 1.2.5 for Edexcel GCSE PE.
It is colour coded and features the parts of the specification detailing what they need to know, past exam questions and questions which require students to apply their knowledge to a sporting example with various scenarios based around Cristiano Ronaldo.
There are also prompts, tables and boxes for students to recite their knowledge of the topics.
Students can use the check list to tick off what they know and high light areas in which they need to revise further.
Also attached is the answers for the exam questions featured in the workbook in the blue boxes.
Both booklets have been used by our department and have been very well received by our Year 11 in preparation for the upcoming exam. It has taken them several lessons to work through and they have enjoyed the project style and the tasks of linking all topics back to Sports People (Ronaldo in this case). Applying knowledge to a sportsperson has allowed some students to produce developed statements when they have struggled previously.
The booklet could easily be catered towards a different sport with the majority of questions being transferable.
I would appreciate your feedback!
