This has been designed to support the White Rose Maths Year 9 scheme. Treasure Hunt activities promote cooperative learning and engagement by pupils working in pairs to find the correct answer.
It can be used as the main lesson activity to determine what learning has taken place and also it is a great revision exercise.
This Treasure Hunt is differentiated to two levels, amber and green. The green treasure hunt includes the extra challenge of finding missing frequencies from the tables given the estimated mean.
All our resources come complete with instructions, solutions and where appropriate ideas to stretch and support pupils. Check out NumberLoving for more ideas and resources like this. GCSE 9-1 Equation of Tangents to Circle (Question Grid Worksheets)
This question grid has two levels, the first level each circle has a centre of (0, 0) and level 2 is more challenging with different circle centres and pupils need to find the Tangent to the circle at a given point. This is relevant for the new GCSE 9-1 UK specification.
Pupils will choose which level to work out and they select a square and answer that question.
It can be played as a competitive game such as ‘noughts and crosses’. Pupils answer on their sticky-notes or in their colour, claiming the square. The first pupil to answer three questions in a row (correctly) is the winner. See our blog post here about similar ideas here.

Exact trig values is new to the GCSE 9-1 specification. This resource is to support pupils in providing summary notes or a revision resource. This resource has been updated and there are now four folables in this download; covering different aspects to do e=with exact trigonometric values and trig graphs. The four foldables cover;
Exact Trig Values; Pupils use the two triangles (one right angled and one equilateral) to determine the exact trig values using SOH CAH TOA. They will also need to use Pythagoras’ theorem to find the length of the hypotenuse.
Trig Graphs: Pupils are required to recall and sketch the graphs of sin, cos and tan from -360° to 360° on the given axis.
Exact Trig Values >90°; pupils use the exact trip values from the two triangles and use to calculate carefully chosen trig values e.g. sin 210°.
Using Exact Trig Values; pupils use the trig values to complete sums of different trig values (therefore pupils need to be able to add/subtract fractions).
Foldables can be used as a revision or summary exercise at the end of a topic. As the answers are hidden pupils can use these to ‘test’ themselves or ask someone else such as a parent to test them.
I have included an A4 version for UK printers and a let

Prompt sheets are an ideal activity to complete before a topic to establish pupils’ prior knowledge or to use as a review/revision activity at the end of a topic. Pupils use the provided vocabulary word bank to annotate the pictures and diagrams provided.
This prompt sheet covers the transformations of enlargement, reflection, rotation and translation.
This prompt sheet is available in a bundle with other prompt sheets.

This resource includes two foldables, one covering the Foundation tier formulae for the new 9-1 GCSE specification that puils will be required to remember and use and second foldable includes the additional Higher tier formulae, again which pupils will need to both recall and use.
This foldable is also available as part of the foldable bundle.

Test your students’ ability to spot mistakes and develop their understanding with this activity. Pupils are given two different answers to a question and have to determine which is correct. They then have to explain what misconception has led to the incorrect answer.
Pupils are asked to assess the comparisons made between two data sets and decide which is the best comparison and why. Full instructions, ideas for extension, and a solution are provided in the resource - what more could you need?

This resource covers the topic of finding reciprocals. There are five different worksheets (A-E) each of differing difficulties, so pupils can be given progressive sheets, or one used on learning, one on review, alternatively pupils are given the worksheet most appropriate to their ability.
The five worksheets are
Worksheet A; This worksheet has 8 questions; 6 questions finding the reciprocal of whole numbers and 2 questions finding the reciprocal of fractions.
Worksheet B; This worksheet has 8 questions; 6 questions finding the reciprocal of fractions and 2 questions finding the reciprocal of decimals.
Worksheet C; This worksheet has 8 questions; 7 questions finding the reciprocal of decimals.
Worksheet D; This worksheet has 8 questions; 2 questions finding reciprocal of fractions <1 and 6 questions finding the reciprocal of mixed numbers.
Worksheet E; This worksheet has 8 questions which cover all the above style questions covered in worksheet A, B, C and D.

Part of the new 9-1 GCSE, this set of four ‘Tick or Trash’ worksheets require pupils to evaluate functions by substitution into both linear, quadratic and composite functions
The four worksheets are;
Worksheet A; This worksheet has 10 questions; 8 questions involve evaluating the three functions numerically and 2 questions involve exact (Pi) and algebraic evaluation.
Worksheet B; This worksheet has 10 questions; 4 questions involve evaluating the three functions numerically and 6 questions algebraically.
Worksheet C; This worksheet has 10 questions evaluating composite functions numerically.
Worksheet D; This worksheet has 10 questions evaluating composite functions algebraically.

Updated This resources has new content added. It now includes one set in the traditional fan and pick style (i.e. answer on the question cards) and a second version of the question cards with the answer removed. Therefore giving more flexibility for how you might use them with your students. Previous buyers, please re-download to access new content.
Fan and Pick activity promotes cooperative learning (Kagan strategy), by creating situations for discussions around finding the correct answer and not just what the answer is. They can be used as a plenary activity to determine what learning has taken place, used to determine pupils prior knowledge to a topic and of course great for revision.
Each Fan and Pick set has a set of 12 question cards, each card has three questions differentiated by hotness. The sequences questions here cover finding the next term, the nth term, generating a sequence and deciding if a term is in the sequence; including linear, quadratic and Fibonacci sequences. Alternatively use the second set (with answers removed) as differentiated question task cards.
Full instructions and solutions are provided along with suggestions for stretch and challenge.
