Full Lesson PowerPoint sufficient to teach the GCSE 9-1 specification Chemistry lesson on Dynamic Equilibrium. The resource is easy to follow for teachers and readily accessible for students. For Combined Science, Foundation students only need to cover the first two objectives; Higher tier candidates also need to learn about factors affecting the position of the equilibrium. Triple Science students also need to do the follow-up lesson (SC15b) on Factors affecting Equilibria. A clearer version of the worksheet can be downloaded from my shop in needed. This full lesson PowerPoint will allow you to teach the GCSE 9-1 specification Chemistry lesson on Chemical Cells and Fuel Cells. The resource is accessible for students, easy for teachers to follow and is appropriate for TRIPLE SCIENCE ONLY, Foundation and Higher tiers. Please note that this lesson covers the Edexcel Chemistry Paper 1 content on chemical cells and hydrogen fuel cells. “Recall that a chemical cell produces a voltage until one of the reactants is used up” “Recall that in a hydrogen–oxygen fuel cell hydrogen and oxygen are used to produce a voltage and water is the only product” “Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of fuel cells for given uses” This lesson does not cover the Paper 2 content comparing and contrasting hydrogen and petrol as fuels. This bundle meets all specification points needed to teach Topic 13 (topic 17 for Separate Science) “Groups in the Periodic Table” from the Edexcel GCSE 9-1 Combined Science course. The bundle includes four full lesson PowerPoints and associated resources plus my overview and equipment lists for all Year 10 and Year 11 Combined & Triple Science. Having delivered this to three classes already, my suggested teaching order is: Noble Gases, Alkali Metals, Halogens and Halogen Reactivity. This gets the dry intro out of the way first before focusing solidly on the more complex topics that typically feature on exam papers. This bundle meets all specification points needed to teach Topics 14 “Rates of Reaction” (topic 18 for Separate Science) and 15 “Energy Changes in Reactions” (topic 19 for Separate Science) from the Edexcel GCSE 9-1 Combined Science course. An ideal home learning resource; these revision cards cover all the “learnable” Chemistry Paper 1 content. The cards come as an editable PowerPoint, with six cards per slide for students to cut out. There are eight slides (48 cards) for Combined students and ten slides (58 cards) for Triple students. The cards that are Higher only are indicated, so Foundation students can discard these. As students memorise the content of each card, they should be able to recall the information when prompted by a revision partner. As information becomes embedded, cards can be removed so the pile focuses on a smaller number of trickier concepts. Please note: these cards are designed to supplement NOT substitute for other revision. If all the material on these cards is memorised, it will give students a solid platform from which to achieve a very good grade. However, these cards are not sufficient to fully prepare students for the chemical calculations topics (only practice can prepare for this) or the technical aspects of the Core Practicals (practical experience is needed for this)
