Rollercoaster wheels need polishing !The maths in this task includes identifying equivalent fractions represented visually and is themed around wheels.
The visual representation of wheels help to show the equivalence in size and the task requires the wheels to be shaded to show this equivalence. This is a good activity for visual learners to transfer the concepts of equivalence.
Calculate the moves of playing penguins hopping forwards and backwards and interpret negative numbers crossing over zero . Follow instructions to decide on the penguins final landing point. Extend the task to investigate different combinations of movement across zero .
