Superb sheet about Rosalia, the new face of flamenco. This worksheet explains the success and controversy about the song MALAMENTE by Spanish singer ROSALIA. An exam style reading with blanks to fill in followed by a ´find a synonym´ activity. Not only this sheet will provide valuable exam technique, but also initiate debate on the ´new´ flamenco and Spanish cliches like bull fighting, religion, Semana Santa and feminism. Strongly recommended to view the videoclip after completing the sheet in class: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rht7rBHuXW8

The lyrics to this excellent and relatively unknown song by the group Quilapayún give students a great insight into the Cuban revolution. Suitable for the A-level course, play the song (freely available on YouTube) and ask students to fill in the gaps with the correct words. They can then translate the lyrics and relate them to this phase of Cuban history. Sure to be a hit with students and free for you!
