I have worked as an HLTA and MFL teacher for Secondary. These are mainly resources that I knocked up to suit my needs when I couldn't find what I was looking for, so I hope that they may be of use to you as well. Subjects I tend to cover are Literacy/English and Modern Languages but the resources are varied. A lot of the resources are differentiated and suitable for students with EAL or SEN, particularly in Key Stage 3.

Common French Verbs

MFL - French This was made as an easy visual revision sheet for a student (Year 9) with SEN to help them learn basic French verbs for a test. It was used in conjunction with precision teaching. We also made connections with the words for revision, for example 'mange' sounding a bit like 'munch' and 'habite' sounding like 'habitat'.
Capital Letters and Lower Case Prompt Strips

Capital Letters and Lower Case Prompt Strips

(0)
Literacy Useful for SEN. I print these out and cut up or laminate for students who have trouble recognising capital letter mistakes that they have made in their work. In Literacy, I have cut the strips up and stuck one in every margin of specific exercise books to serve as a reminder. Some students repeatedly put capital letters in the middle of words, for example, and on investigation I found that some of them didn't know what the lower case letter looked like.
Capital Letters and Punctuation Prompt Card.

Capital Letters and Punctuation Prompt Card.

Literacy I have used this prompt card to stick in the front of exercise books for lower sets/SEN. You could also laminate the card, punch a hole in it, and tie it with a piece of string into a student's planner so it is visible in every lesson and can be used as a tool to check over the basics in every piece of work. Have you used capital letters correctly? Have you used punctuation correctly? I find the MINTS acronym to be helpful for capital letters.

How to use Clicker 6 document

Literacy I prepared this worksheet to help staff navigate through the Clicker 6 software. I laminated the sheets double sided so that they could also be given to new support staff. Obviously the part about saving a Clicker 6 set will be particular to the school, so feel free to edit that. Hope you find it helpful.

Apostrophes of Possession Extension

(0)
Literacy An idea for a bit of extended writing inspired by the lesson on Apostrophes for Possession. When it was clear other work was being finished up or the point of the lesson had been grasped, I put this on the board as an extension for those who had finished. Use of superheroes and celebrities just to capture their imagination!

Alphabet Categories Quiz Worksheet

Alphabet Categories Quiz Worksheet

(1)
Literacy This is a nice and easy alphabet game that everyone can take part in. I usually allow them to play in pairs. The aim is to fill in the category columns with an answer for each letter. For example for girls' names you might have Annie, Becky, Charlotte etc. I also use it to reinforce the use of capital letters for names etc. It also introduces an element of competition if you would like to use it that way. Feel free to jazz it up!
Holiday Adverts
ProfSeverusProfSeverus

Holiday Adverts

(2)
Literacy An on the board starter and a reading comprehension task based on the topic Holidays and Writing to Persuade or Advertise for an SEN KS3 class but could be adapted for others. The lesson before, students research different holidays. Here they learn what a holiday advert looks like before designing their own. Useful for Literacy classes or Entry Level / Step Up to English. Feel free to jazz it up! *If you use this resource, I would be grateful if you left a review and let me know how it went. Thank you!*
German Pyramid - Opinions, Time Phrases, Higher Order Phrases and Connectives.

German Pyramid - Opinions, Time Phrases, Higher Order Phrases and Connectives.

*If you're here from twitter, I would really appreciate it if you could write a quick review or send me a tweet if you like the resource, thanks.* MFL - Not my original idea but adapted from a literacy resource, this pyramid aims to help students with their independent learning, specifically when writing. Most useful for GCSE or A-Level, however it can be used across all age groups and abilities due to the built in differentiation - the easier phrases are at the top of the pyramid and they get more complex as you go down. I have included a colour key on some phrases to also help with word order. If you have the time and money, the idea is to laminate each side and to fix them together to make the pyramid as shown in the pictures. The different sections are: Opinions Time Phrases and Sequencers Higher Order Phrases Connectives I have uploaded the document and pics of how it should look once made. If you decide to use this resource, please leave a comment or share. Thanks! Danke!
Film Review Planning and Checklist Framework

Film Review Planning and Checklist Framework

(3)
Literacy Film Review Planning - this sheet was used as a framework for students with SEN to make notes on during and after watching a film. Sentence starters are included to help them. Film Review Checklist - the students then typed up their reviews using the framework. They were each given a checklist/task list to tick off as they worked to help them focus on what was important. Also useful for differentiating within a mainstream lesson.
