Resources for two-three lessons on the cognitive approach, includes vidoes, worksheets, activities and powerpoint.
Students have a notes sheet that they complete while going through the ppt.
1. Mental processes, including inferences and schema’s. This is packed with fun activities for students to try out to show them their mental processing (including loads of videos).
2. Comparing the mind to computers, cognitive neuroscience and evaluation of the cognitive approach (using the GHG book) and a match task to consolidate PEEL paragraphs.
Also included is some exam questions to use as a test for students and some good student responses and a summary crossword with answers. Plus a sample 16 mark answer essay.
Full lesson powerpoint and activities for Lateralisation and Sperry’s study. I get the students to complete the notes sheet while working through the powerpoint. They then complete the evaluation using the pink haired girl text book.
Numerous video links throughout the powerpoint.

This is a set of approx. 80 revision cards with questions and answers for students studying AQA Biospychology (year 1 and year 2 content). It includes the first year biopsychology cards from the AS approaches and biopsychology revision cards and then new ones added for second year content.
They can be used independently or in pairs, alternating answering and asking questions. They should be printed double sided or stuck onto the back of each other.
I have uploaded sets for the all of the first year modules as well (and some other second year modules).
This is a full lesson including powerpoint, booklet for note taking and worksheet activities for A2 Biological Rhythms in the Biopsychology part of the course. It includes Circadian, Infradian and Ultradian Rhythms as well as Endogenous Pacemakers and Exogenous Zeitgebers.
The powerpoint is over 40 slides long and includes numerous links to video clips, a longer documentary. I give the students a copy of the notes booklet and they complete this as we go through the ppt - saves time on too much note taking. To finish off there are some summary tasks: A crossword and a card sort summary task on biological rhythms.
It will last approximately 3-4 hours of teaching.

Full Lesson resources for Zimbardo lesson. This could cover 1.5-2 hours of time. I usually go over social roles, before getting them to watch the 30 min video and complete their notes sheet. Then I go over the study so they can add in any details they missed into their sheet. Then the students complete the evaluation tasks. Before ending the lesson with a true or false.

Powerpoint and 8 worksheets, designed for the new AQA Psychology (2015 spec). I have always enjoyed teaching statistics and the students usually quite enjoy these lessons. This is for the Year 2 content. It will take probably 3 x 1 hour sessions and there are answers provided for the worksheets. The powerpoint should act as a lesson plan really. It is tried and tested from previous courses I have taught and adapted to current specification requirements. It includes with it a 40+ slide ppt & 8 worksheets with lots of example scenarios for them to practise their stats skills on.

This includes revision on data types, level of measurement, significance and probability, graphs, distributions, drawing conclusions and maths.
The students complete the notes sheet as we work through the ppt. Sometimes note taking and sometimes completing the activities before we go through the answers. The notes sheet is 10 pages so packed with practise for them to do.
