Many of these organisms are useful to human and nature while some are harmful and even cause diseases. In this lesson, students will learn about the 5 different types of microorganisms: fungi, bacteria, algae, viruses and protozoa. They will watch videos which explain their dangers but also their uses and they will tasked to determine which is helpful and harmful from the examples given. Following this, they will carry out an experiment looking at the conditions which cause mould to grow on bread. The experiment investigation sheet is provided.
