Consonant blends worksheets:
There are 7 consonant blends worksheets containing 9 blends pictures on each sheet with incomplete words. Students select the correct missing blends from the grid using the picture clues.
The blends are:

Writing activity: Worksheets 1 to 3
Students write simple sentences using each of the beginning blends shown in the grid with pictures. They should check their work making sure they start their sentence with a capital/uppercase letter and finish with an end punctuation.

Match the same pictures worksheets: Students draw lines to match squirrels showing the same emotion – Picture to picture match.

Find and Count: Students identify the squirrel they should find and then count the pictures that are the same and write the number in the boxes provided.
Drawing different emotions/feelings: Students read the word below each squirrel and then draw the emotion. I have included an example worksheet on this activity. Is a student able to draw the correct emotion for the word?
How do you feel today? In this writing/drawing features activity, students write how they are feeling and then write the word, or for more able students a sentence and why they are feeling that way.
Trace and Draw: Students trace over the repetitive sentences with different emotions and then draw in the correct facial expressions.
Read and Write Missing Emotions: There is a word box and sentences with missing emotions. At the end of each sentence is a squirrel. Students read the sentences and fill in the gaps.

As well as reading the sentences, there are picture clues and a digraph box to help students complete the words that are missing their digraphs.

The sentences contain incorrect spellings of the final blends. Students read the simple sentences and correct the spelling by rewriting the word in the box above the word.
Optional: Laminate and cut apart the final consonant blends for practical activities with the worksheets A to D. If students need help in solving the correct final blends on the worksheets, you can display 2 or 3 cards and ask which one would be the correct ending for the word. See example preview.
Word Puzzles: three differentiated word puzzles.
• Easier puzzle: The beginning letter of each word is shown in the word puzzle grid. Students use the picture clues and words to fill in the boxes across the page to reveal the hidden word written downwards.
• Students unscramble the words in the box and then with the help of the pictures, write the words across the page to solve the word puzzle and find the hidden word which is written downwards.
• Students solve the puzzle by unscrambling the words and writing them across the page to reveal the hidden St Patrick’s word which is written downwards

This resource contains a variety of Valentine’s Day theme worksheets and flash cards relating to emotions and feelings. Students can review different kinds of emotions and increase their vocabulary. You can differentiate the activities. For example, students can match words to facial emotions and/or match faces that are the same. They can play matching games with the cards once they are laminated and cut apart.
You can prepare cards for write the room activity and print out the worksheets. Place the cards that match the pictures on the worksheets around the classroom for students to walk round and find the matching picture card and then write the emotion opposite the correct picture on their worksheet.

This is product relates to antonyms. If you are looking for extra resources to reinforce or review antonyms, then this resource covers that learning objective. The product contains 46 pairs of antonym cards which you can use to present your lessons by asking students to find the opposite of the card you are holding up. Or you could blu tac some cards onto an easel and ask students ‘What is the opposite of each card?’.
Other activities with the cards: Snap! and a memory game (select pairs of antonyms and lay them face down on the table for students to find matching antonym pairs).
Preparation: For longevity I would suggest laminating and cutting apart the cards you require for that activity.
