This resource is a lesson on the value of language learning for the UK economy and beyond. It includes discussion points and could be used to inspire students to contemplate MOOCs in a language or language courses at university. The resource includes Teaching Notes which have a link to duplicate a survey on Forms to ascertain how students appreciate (or don’t) language learning. There is also a worksheet for the Hellos activity, though this could be replaced with post-its. It will also be part of a bundle with other resources looking at situations where stress and anxiety are more prevalent, such as when facing disappointment, or in the face of exams, and areas of our lives we can work on to help improve our mental health, such as sleep, friendship and acts of kindness.
