I have designed these arts and crafts starter activities with art therapy in mind. They can be used as a conversation starter or simply a classroom activity. Children often struggle to explain their feelings so openly so these flashcards can be used to as a mindfulness activity, a bit of fun or something to help you understand the individual. Children are now starting to show the effects of the last year, many children are displaying behaviours that are not desired in the classroom. I have created this contract to talk through with the children. Ask them for ideas to put on the chart and ask them all to sign it at the end to show they have understood. This is also a great way to show accountability.
This vowel game promotes reading and spelling. Fold over the image on the dotted line and ask the children to work out the word, once they have worked it out reveal the picture. Children will have fun anticipating the image while learning.
