This resource provides a range of superhero templates that children can use to design their own superhero character. They can add colour to develop their own super suit and then they can think about the super powers that their character will have. You could encourage children to develop super powers linked to study skills, for instance, super memory or super writing ability …. Or you could use it as a lead into creative writing, with their superhero saving the day in an adventure. Male and female character templates are provided. This resource could help make cross curricular links – study skills, art, creative writing. Please leave feedback. We really value your views. Many thanks.

Time. Updated for 2017-18

Updated for 2017-18. I originally produced this STEAM resource to help my own children learn to tell the time. It has since been used extensively to support teaching time telling to children aged between 5 and 10 years of age. This Key Stage 1 and 2 Maths resource provides clear visuals and activities to support children in the development of time telling skills. The aim is to encourage children to take a hands on approach and enjoy learning to tell the time. Slides are provided in three different formats; full colour, black and white photocopiable and tinted dyslexia friendly.

The Non SATs Non Test!

This is the antidote to the SATs. Questions for children to answer in the way that they want to answer them. They cannot be wrong because all the questions ask for their own opinions. This is an opportunity to focus on the individual child, reminding them that their thoughts and views count and that we are truly interested in them. Questions ask them about their favourite things, their activities and their views on school and life in general. ..... and what is even better - there is no marking needed. Simply read their answers and have a chat about them. Even if you don't fancy using this resource, let's not forget that school and education can be fun, can be stress free and is about nurturing unique individuals, not mass producing little learning robots.
