ACTIVITY FOR EACH HUNT
Place the 16 fact cards on a specific Hunt around the classroom. Students can work individually, in pairs, or in small groups to find the answers to all 16 questions on their response sheets. They must read the fact card to find the answer for each corresponding fact question on their recording sheets. Early finishers who complete the Scavenger Hunt can design their posters and work on their flipbooks.

It would also be fun for groups of 2-3 students to work on a country of choice, that way you can have the entire class completing information on all 13 countries to share with each other. The flipbooks and posters would also make an impressive classroom display. Display them under the colourful banner.

ACTIVITY
Place the 32 fact cards on Easter around the classroom. Students can work individually, in pairs, or in small groups to find the answers to all 32 questions on their response sheets. They must read the fact card to find the answer for each corresponding fact question on their response sheets.
Early finishers who complete the Scavenger Hunt can design their writing posters. Wrap-up the activity by getting students together and asking them to share the facts they found the most interesting. They may refer to their recording sheets and posters.

HOW TO ASSEMBLE FLIPBOOK:
You can choose either of the two options.
Print out the templates in blackline. Cut around each template and assemble from smallest template to largest template. Have students colour in cover page. Staple at top tab for flipbook or glue descending order in notebook.

PREPARATION
→ For grades 2-3, bundle up to 6 sheets together after sorting, align them perfectly and cut.
→ For grades 4-6, students are old enough to cut and compile flipbooks on their own. I have my students compile all sections of the flipbook prior to research and writing.
DISPLAY
After completion, display students’ flipbooks under the Easter Banner.

You can also have this as a silent activity where students move around quietly solving all the task cards without the teacher calling out ‘scoot’.
At the culmination of the activity, project the cards on the interactive whiteboard and discuss the answers with the class. Alternatively, place answer sheets at a Centre for students to self-check.
PREPARATION

Notebook Templates 1 (cover and response sheet): Grammatical terminology is given on the cover sheets. Students write the definitions on the response sheet.
Notebook Template 2 (cover and response): Sample sentences are given on the cover sheet, students colour code the complete subject and the complete predicate. They write their own sentences on the response sheet and colour code the complete subjects and the complete predicates.
Notebook Template 3 (cover and response sheet): Visuals are given on the cover sheet, students write simple sentences on the response sheet. They colour code the complete subjects and the complete predicates.

RECOMMENDED USE:
Run through the presentation yourself prior to presenting to students. Make any changes to content in the editable files (both presentation and notes), for instance: type in your own examples or edit content to target differentiation.
Present the slides one at a time, students will follow instructions on each slide like filling in the blanks on their note-taking sheets and attempting practice examples. The slides are animated to present information in manageable chunks.
