In this resource, you will find 5 letter templates for use as Head of Year. These have been collated using my experience as Head of Year as well as having seen request for letter templates from new pastoral leaders. These are not from a specific school but have been edited and created for the purpose of sharing.
This resource includes:
1 x behaviour warning letter
1 x bus/school transport warning letter
1 x lunch time behaviour warning letter
1 x homework letter
1 x uniform, equipment and late letter
Please remember to always tailor letters to your context and to your community. I do not recommend simply copying these over and sending them out - they will need adjusting for your specific setting. They are intended to be a starting point.
These are perfect for heads of year who are just beginning the role as well as experienced heads of year who do not want to reinvent the wheel.

This resource is a light hearted survey aimed at gaining feedback from staff in your team.
The survey is designed to be informal enough to encourage feedback which is genuine whilst staff understand that the importance of reflection and planning for the future.

an editable blockbuster template: this should be used to get students to create keywords from the lesson or in conjunction with questions linked to learning in the lesson.

This lesson is a stand alone lesson about dialogue and how to use dialogue effectively. It includes some ‘golden rules of dialogue’ and the chance for students to create some dialogue using an image for inspiration. Students then used the golden rules of dialogue to peer assess.
This lesson includes 1 x powerpoint, 1 worksheet for students to edit, 1 worksheet with a list of interesting dialogue tags on.

This resource includes a colourful PDF which asks students to use the alphabet to link words from their learning to each letter.

In this resource, you will find a PDF with a loyalty stamper style reward card for intervention attendance.
This particular stamper has space for attendance to 10 sessions and the description on the card reads: ‘attend 8 out of 10 sessions and receive a reward.’
This is designed to be used with KS4 and GCSE students to attend GCSE intervention sessions. It could also be used for KS3 students to attend potential intervention sessions after school or at lunch times.
