Guided Reading Cards A set of cards that can be used with any narrative texts. I laminate each of the cards and allow children to write their answers on the cards. They select the cards at random and them answer the question (verbally or written) based on the text that has been read.

A PowerPoint that takes students through examples of main and subordinate clauses. PowerPoint gives examples of both types of clauses in Christmas themed sentences. Students will be asked to identify main and subordinate clauses in the beginning, middle and end of the sentences. They will then be required to work with a partner or a group to finish sentences with main or subordinate clauses. 3 worksheets included based on the PowerPoint 1. Students read the sentences and identify where the main clauses are 2. Students will write their own main and subordinate clauses 3.
