Spider Web Phonics Group activity / game. Each child needs a board and a spider. Start with the spider in the middle of the board. An adult will need to shout out a letter. Reception Our topic was minibeasts. This pack includes The Very Hungry Caterpillar - Story Writing Template Top group - wrote independently. Middle group - copied from a model. Lower group - over wrote my writing (yellow felt pen). Early Years Maths Numeracy Provision Cut and laminate the patterns in strips. Provide plastic / real coins for children to make repeating patterns in the maths area. Challenge children to make their own patterns.

More and Less - Reception - Early Years Differentiated worksheets. Worksheet 1 Roll the dice. Then count the dots on the dice. Draw the dots in the middle box. Draw 1 more in the right box. Draw 1 less in the left box. Or write the correct numbers. To differentiate, children need to use 2 dice and add them together to find the total value. Then find 1 more and 1 less. Or use a foam dice and add your own numbers (e.g 2 -3 digit numbers). Worksheet 2 Find 1 more and 1 less using a number line.

Then, we sorted the pictures of sources of light into two hoops, whether they were natural or man-made. We then completed the worksheets.

My reception class discussed rules and what was ‘fair’ and ‘not fair’ / ‘right’ and ‘wrong’. We cut out the sentences and matched them to either ‘right’ or ‘wrong’. We discussed each one first and re-wrote them to be fair.

I made this visual to help my children to make patterns with their bodies. For example, clap, click, clap, click.

We spent the morning watching videos on BBC clips, and reading facts about woodland animals. We then talked about WOW words to describe how they looked etc. We used this worksheet to record our answers. Sort woodland & non-woodland animals into a Venn diagram.
