PowerPoint to go with my double sided covr worksheet. Ideal for cover work. A variety of tasks of increasing difficulty. Answers and other useful vocab provided for non-specialist cover teachers. Ideas for open ended tasks provided at the end as an extension or for early finishers. Concentrates on the perfect tense with sein. Can be projected for a more interactive cover lesson. Worksheet also available to purchase separately.
An extra easy version of my general conversation booklet for students who get overwhelmed when faced with too much. Each question is provided with a very simple writing frame to help structure very simple one or two line answers. I have also cut out a lot of the more difficult topics such as poverty, charity work and environment. I will be giving this booklet to my students who, at the moment are even struggling to get a grade 4, as they have no idea where to even start with their speaking preparation.
UPDATED JUNE 19. SOME OUT OF DATE QUESTIONS HAVE BEEN CHANGED AND I’VE ADDED THE ANSWERS AS REQUESTED.
A treasure hunt that I use every year on my Rhine trip to the Boppard area. The treasure hunt takes around an hour and you can edit it to meet students wherever you want (I suggest in a nice warm café with Kaffee und Kuchen). It starts in the main square and I suggest sending group off with staggered timings, or even get different groups to start at different questions. I also give extra marks for speed, as long as they have answered everything! You can also give extra points for asking them to answer some questions in both German and English (I have done this on some but not all)
PLease note, I cannot guarantee this will be still up to date when you use it!
Is anyone else fed up of their foundation students not using their resources and writing whatever pops into their heads, or complaining that 40 words is too much?! In this document, I have written 10(ish) words for every AQA bullet point so far to show them a) It’s not that much per bullet point and b) they can keep it simple and use phrases from the resources they’ve been given! Fingers crossed it works!

This is a worksheet to be used in conjunction with one of the Deutsche Bahn Christmas adverts. It fits in nicely with the GCSE topic of homelessness. Includes a gap fill of the advert transcript. Comprehension questions in German to be completed in full sentences and a short translation activity.
