The Titanic was a significant event in history and continues to fascinate children and adults today. The fact that it was so tragic, that there are so many “what-ifs”, that there were survivors who lived to tell vivid accounts of what actually happened, all makes for a highly interesting topic to learn about.
This digital resource has 37 PowerPoint™ and Google Slides™ which use primary sources including quotes, photos, advertising material, court claims, and items that were recovered, along with other images and timelines to explain the events leading up to and following the sinking of the Titanic.
The slides towards the end of the slide deck highlight essential social studies concepts about the significance of the event, causes and consequences of the sinking and high death toll, sources of information, differences in classes, and changes to safety that took place as a result of the tragedy.
You can delete any slides you don’t need.
I’ve also included an editable printable worksheet with comprehension questions. You can add, edit, or remove any questions to meet your needs.
Plus, there’s a printable Morse Code activity which would be great for the whole class or early finishers.
You will receive a PPTX slideshow file for PowerPoint™, a PDF information pack with the link to make a copy of the slides in Google Slides™, and a PPTX of the comprehension questions, plus a link to the Google Slides™ version.

If you’re studying ancient Greece, this 3D paper model will bring your topic to life. This is a hands-on project ideal for year 3 and above, using materials that are easily available.

Use as part of an ancient Greece study
Use when learning about famous buildings around the world
Use it as a hands-on activity for early finishers, golden time, GATE, or similar
You will need:
paper
glue sticks
white glue
double-sided tape (optional)
scissors
colouring pencils (optional)
What’s included?
2 pages of outlines for the smaller version (with or without steps)
4 pages of outlines for the larger size
PDF slideshow of instructions to show on a screen
Student handout of instructions
