This resource is designed to provide information about the Bannockburn Tartan Mill. It can be used as a stand alone lesson or as part of a Scottish topic. A follow up lesson could be designing your own tartan.
I created these soundboards for a fun, seasonal music lesson. You display the powerpoint on the interactive whiteboard and the learners either make vocal noises or use instruments to follow along as you move along the pictures. You can use music the background to add to the atmosphere. Either get all learners making the same noise as you go over each image, or split them into groups. One group makes the noise of a witch, the other make ghost sounds. The same goes when using instruments.
I created this resource to help me see the progression I needed to follow. It’s important to remember this is not to be achieved just in primary 1, but will follow the learners all the way through to primary 3. The sounds can and should be reviewed when needed, regardless of age and stage.
This challenge is fantastic for not only using their problem solving skills, but their maths skills as well. This can be split into more than one lesson, with the planning element first and then the build challenge. It’s great for promoting team work and you can differentiate the groups so they can support each other.
