This resource contains 3 comprehension activities suitable for using with year 1. It is the story of The Gingerbread Boy, split into 3 parts: the beginning, middle and end. Each section contains a short piece of text (about 5 sentences) with words that can predominately be sounded out. There are three trickier words which have pictures to help children work out what they say. The text is followed by 5 simple questions. There is also a PowerPoint included in the pack containing a slide for each text so that you can go through the comprehensions before the children complete them. Each slide also contains 3 words that are trickier to sound out, with sound buttons underneath them. PDF file format and editable Microsoft word format included in the price.

This is a pack of four RE plans, perfect for using during the Christmas season. The lessons are aimed at KS1 and are all highly interactive, using a range of enjoyable activities to teach the Christmas story and its messages. The themes that are covered include trust, journeys, gifts and similarities and differences. Each lesson includes a detailed PDF plan with learning objectives, as well as a PowerPoint presentation telling the story. The PowerPoints are not editable. Click ‘Read Only’ to open them. Some of the images are only revealed when the PowerPoints are played as slideshows with the animations.
