Example tasks: match-ups, wordsearches, labelling, media language alphabet, true or false, quiz etc. Last 5 pages have generic recall grids, again used as starters to test pupils’ short and long term knowledge of the set texts. I use the booklet with year 10, as ‘silent’ starters. PDF also uploaded, to preserve formatting. Might save you a load of time and effort…!

EDUQAS GCSE MEDIA STUDIES SET TEXT RECALL GRIDS Used as starters / bell tasks with KS4 Media Studies pupils. 38 slides, including answers (yellow slides). Questions range from 1 - 4 marks. Questions mainly cover Component 1, Sections A and B. Obviously, adaptable to suit pupil ability. Pupils given a little booklet containing multiple blank versions of the grid, to use at the start of each lesson. Peer marking. Pupils who achieve over 20 / 24 marks (depending on ability) get a chocolate biscuit! Has worked wonders for years!
