Daily routine worksheet
I saw this idea on Pinterest and had to take it to my lessons. We studied the daily routine in German and then students completed this circle with all of the hours of the day. You can adapt it to different levels by asking them to just write words or to extend it a bit more and write sentences.
Hope you like it or find it useful :)
International Women's Day
A resource that you can adapt to any language and level to work with on International Women’s Day.
A wordsearch with adjectives, some research about past and present women and a writing task.
I chose these 8 women but you could choose any or ask the students to choose some themselves!
For the writing task some of my students choose to describe someone in their family instead of a “famous” woman, which I think it’s great!
Feel free to adapt the activity however you like, translate it to the language you teach, add or delete things… anything you want, but please celebrate International Women’s Day!
Clothes sentence builder
A sentence builder that I created to use as an extension to the topic “Wir gehen aus” from Echo Express 2. It’s in both PDF and Word document format, so you can adapt it as you want :)
Christmas Board Game
Some years ago I saw the idea on TES of creating a boardgame where students had to “go to a Christmas market” and buy things. I have now created this that I will be using with different year groups adapting the grammar to their level.
Hope you like it :)

Test units 1-2 German GCSE

Baubles in French, German and Spanish
I will put together 4 of them to create a 3D one that the children can take home.
With older groups (Y7,8) I will ask them to write something on a blank one, like what they are going to do for Christmas or something about Christmas in the TL country.
Hope you like it :)

French Christmas song
French version of the song “Jingle Bells”, in French “Vive le vent”. Students first work with some of the vocabulary as a starter and then listen to the song filling in the gaps.
It includes powerpoint and worksheet for the students.
Christmas game-who killed the ginger man
This is a game that you can use to study/ revise Christmas vocabulary. It’s a version of the game “Cluedo” where students have to find out who has killed the Ginger man. On the second slide you have the vocabulary that maybe students don’t know so you can leave it up during the game.
Instructions are included, you would just need to print out the cards so you can randomly choose one of each + a place and give it to the teacher. Alternatively you can just choose one from each without telling the students and they need to find out.
If you want to make it more personalised, you can put your picture on top of “Frau Rodríguez” picture and you can be one of the suspects.
Hope you like it!

It includes powerpoint and worksheet for the students.
Valentine's day Spanish
This is a whole lesson planned around the song “Qué bonito es querer” by the Spanish Singer Manuel Carrasco.
You will work vocabulary, grammar and Spanish in a real context. That is why you will be able to use it with KS3 but also KS4 as it includes verb tenses that they will need to use for GCSE
The resource includes the powerpoint presentation with a Starter and different activities to work with the song as well as a final fill in the gaps once we have already done a few activities with the text.
Hope you enjoy it!

German Christmas Mistery
A fun lesson where students will have to find out who from all of the guests to a party made the Secret Santa presents disappear!
Students will work through five clue worksheets to eliminate suspects from the list of guests until they find out who is “guilty”.
The clues include vocabulary related to rooms in the house, German foods (including Christmas typical snacks), Christmas vocabulary, a cultural text in English about Christmas in Germany and the present tense.
This mistery is based on the amazing Halloween resource by @BaysideTeachingResources that I bought to do with my students, so you will notice that the powerpoint starts mentioning it. The list of the guests is the same so if you have her resource you could do this one as a follow up.
If you don’t know it, you should definitely check it for next Halloween! And just skip the part where it says “Ollie felt bad about what happened in Halloween”.
This resource includes a ppt presentation to show the class, the student pack and a teacher guide with the answers.
I use it with yr 7,8,9 and 10 (with year 10s I only allow them to be individually/pairs, and with the other groups they are allowed to work in groups)
Hope you enjoy it!
Spanish Christmas 2022
This is a powerpoint I created some years ago and I update every year with up-to-date videos and information. It can be for a whole lesson or even two, and it’s a guide to different things and traditions celebrated in Spain before and during Christmas. It includes a questionaire for the students to do at the beginning to check their previous knowledge (they usually only are able to answer a couple of questions) and they can complete it throughout the lesson.
The lesson includes information and videos about:
Christmas tradition in Cataluña- tio de nadal
Spanish lottery
Christmas’ Eve and New Year’s Eve
Christmas Day and New Year
Spanish equivalent to April Fools
Three Wise Men night and Day
Present tense grammar and some future grammar
Vocabulary about Christmas
On the second slide there are instructions for the teacher and the last slide has the answer to the questionaires.
Almost every slide has videos or links, if you hover above the pictures you will be able to see them. On each slide if you click on the blue title you will go back to the calendar.
I use it from yr7 to yr11 varying the activities, it’s a powerpoint so you can adapt it to the level of your group.
Hope you enjoy it!
PS. It’s important that you open it with POWERPOINT and NOT with Google slides so all the animations work well.
