Not only are they prettier than my messy handwriting but they make marking much faster and more precise. Each of the twenty seven statements is based specifically upon common skills and targets from the curriculum and they can be personalised further if needed. Simply print off on sticky label paper et voila. They look impressive and work superbly well for the busy teacher who wants to fine tune their AFL.

Students are given information packs on the lead candidates and create their own short election speech. I always encourage students to make posters, rosettes, and bring in jackets and ties where possible before finishing with a class vote. I hope you enjoy this lesson as much as I always do.

A plenary is also included which asks for them to develop two of these points using ‘on the other hand.’ I hope you enjoy this lesson as much as my students do.

Please read below to find details about this one.” Dan I’ve always found Maoism fascinating and I created this lesson when I worked at an international school in China. As such the level of detail in the notes is of really high quality and its a lesson which my students always found really enjoyable. The class work through the notes and use it to create a newspaper from the perspective of either the Communists or the Nationalists. The ‘Red Globe’ proforma included in the lesson pack allows for students to refine their arguments and carefully select only the most relevant evidence in order to formulate an answer to the key question. I really hope your students get as much from this lesson as mine do.

Please read below to find details about this one.” Dan I created this lesson when I taught in the Middle East and so I’m very proud of the level of detail in it. Students work their way through the background information before attempting a 30 piece hexagonal card sort. The cards are colour coded and the students need to explain what they have in common as well as to make links between factors. This activity was one of my best lessons of the year and always leads to thoughtful and precise historical argument. I really hope you enjoy teaching this as much as I do!

Please read below to find details about this one.” Dan I’ve always enjoyed this lesson and its one that really helps students develop an expert grasp of a difficult series of events. Students read through background knowledge before completing a card sort of 21 precise pieces of evidence. I then encourage students to make links between these factors and to identify which pieces of evidence they find the most compelling. I worked in the Middle East when creating and delivering this lesson so it carries real meaning for me and I hope you can see how that has come across in the level of detail and precision. Above all though I hope your students enjoy this as much as mine did.

Did the Nazis really achieve an 'economic miracle'?

Please read below to find details about this one.” Dan This lesson is titled “Did the Nazis really achieve an economic miracle?” The lesson begins with a starter activity in which students pick out the Odd One Out (the others all being related to the Nazi economy). There is then three graduated lesson criteria. Slides of background knowledge are very detailed and enable teacher exposition. After this, students are asked to place key points on a dartboard diagram to decide if they agree or disagree with the Key Question The main activity is then introduced in which students pair up the dominoes questions and answers, in order to prepare for an extended piece of written work. The lesson ties together as the lesson objectives are revisited. There are then two plenary activities, a Deal or No Deal task and then a trash can activity in which students come to the front to place knowledge learned in one of two trash cans (yes they did achieve an economic miracle and no they did not). I hope you enjoy it as much as my students do! It has been designed for high school students and is written in UK English. Please read below to find details about this one.” Dan I take great pride in these posters and know how much better they make my classroom look and so I hope you find them useful too! I cover my classroom in them each year and often get cited as the best looking classroom in the school. They cover a range of topics and periods and have deliberately been designed to stimulate thought and discussion in the History classroom. Many of the posters have a quote with either a picture or fact which contradicts it. Others are designed to be hard hitting and in some cases provoke outrage. Using these posters will improve the texture of your teaching by ensuring students are constantly immersed in a rich learning atmosphere/environment. Also, as I create new ones I constantly update this pack. Just print them off in A3 colour and laminate et voila! I have included them as individual documents so they’re easier to print but have also included the original PPT in which I created them in case you want to add any of your own within the original fonts etc.
