38 Multiple Choice questions, suitable for most A-level Specifications. Higher level questions on Topic of DNA replication, Transcription and Translation. Perfect for identifying weaknesses.
Ready to use! Straight out of the box, no printing of resources needed. Lesson relates to AQA Chemistry/Trilogy 9-1 Specification. Lesson contains a simple but interactive True or False starter. Clear definitions of pure substances, mixtures, formulation. Lesson also builds into discussion of heating curves, melting points, boiling points and how these relate to state of matter. Also contains example exam question and plenary at end. Could be incorporated into a practical lesson relating to heating curves. I used this as a theory lesson with middle ability Year 11 students.
Enjoy. Feedback welcome.
Ready to teach A-Level Chemistry lesson. Designed for the OCR B Chemistry A-Level Specification. Covers atomic number, mass number, istope, relative atomic mass, history of the different models of the atoms and various calculations. Also covers how to interpret mass spectra to calculate relative atomic mass and how mass spectrometry works. Also includes exam questions and mark schemes.
Would also suit other A-Level Chemistry specification.
Booklet for students to complete containing all the Core practicals in the Edexcel AS Biology B specification. The booklet asks students to give a brief outline of the practical, improvements and limitations. It also contains sample exam questions and markschemes that relate to the core practicals. Covers Biology Core Practicals for topics 1-4.
OCR Chemistry A -Shapes of Molecules and Intermolecular forces
Covers Shapes of Molecules and Ions
To construct simple electron dot and cross diagrams to describe the electron arrangements in ions and covalent and dative bonds
Bonding in simple molecular structure types – typical physical properties (MP, solubility in water, electricity conductivity)
Use electron pair repulsion principle to predict, explain and name the shapes of simple molecules such as BeCl2, BF3, CH4, NH3, H2O and SF6 as well as ions such as NH4+
Ready to go A-Level lesson containing hand drawn notes, information slides, exam questions with model answers about the modern and Kekule structure of benzene. Straight out of the box and ready to teach.
Follows the OCR SOW but suitable for all A-level exam boards.
Full/complete ready to teach lesson about Esters. Lesson outlines how esters are formed, naming of esters. Structure of esters, word and symbol equations. Also included simple practical activity in which students can make a variety of esters. Lesson also involves use of molly mod kits. Could be used as a double or single lesson. Ideal for C3 Edexcel exam board but will fit with any exam board in which Esters are covered.
Short lesson which outlines the importance of Surface to Volume ratio. Includes short video clip and worksheet where students perform some simple calculations. Suitable for most A level Biology specifications.
Bundle containing all the lessons from the OCR Chemistry B topic. I have personally used a taught from these and they worked really well. The calculations have been modelled in each lesson and allow students to develop a mastery of the topics.
Ready to teach lesson. Accompanying worksheets and resources all found in powerpoint and ready to print. Lesson covers the AQA spec and goes over how water is processed to make it potable. I have used this many times and it seems to work well to cover the content.
each pupil was given an element from 1-20. They had to work out the electron structure of that particular element and make a poster using the templates provided. Part of the activity is the pupils choosing which template to use, depending on the number of electron shells their element has. Perfect for lower ability groups.
Made this to accompany the fusion 2 scheme of work. It relates to the first 6 lessons. From describing, elements, compounds, naming compounds and symbols. Used this with a lower ability science group in year 8. Could easily be adapted for years 7 and 9 also.
Originally designed to accompany BTEC qualification. Could easily be used for AEN students to guide them through basic atomic structure theory and electron configuration.
A series of posters I created and laminated in an attempt to create and ‘interactive’ class room in which teachers can use the starters or plenaries on the walls or even let the pupils choose them. Also contains a power point with a series of different levelled questions. Over 4000 minutes worth of editing time. Great for display boards in class rooms. Starter and Plenary essentials.
One contains a variety of starter activity that can be used as a display or as booklets on the desk. The second contains a variety of plenary displays that can be used as a display or as booklets for the teacher to use. The other is a very colourful Blooms’ Higher order Thinking Board, we called this the HOT board and we get students to select questions and phrases to use in their exercise books.
Lesson 2 in the SOW for Biology B Topic 1 - Biological Molecules. In this lesson students focus more closely on carbohydrates and describe the key differences between alpha glucose, beta glucose. They also will be highlighting the differences in structure and function of glycogen, cellulose and starch. Molly mod kits are needed for this lesson. There are also an assortment of exam questions which can be used.
A full lesson, easily adaptable for a single or double lesson. Lesson plan can be found on first slide. This is entirely suitable for the first ever Biology A-Level lesson as an introduction into key Biological Molecules. This could even be used as a Biology A-Level taster lesson for prospective 6th form students. This is suitable for use with new Edexcel Biology B specification. Lesson also involves the active use of molecular model kits.
Simple worksheet also included for students to complete during the lesson or as independent study. The worksheet simply requires them to draw, name and describe the uses of Key Biological molecules.
2 worksheets created for a lower ability Year 8 class. Perfect for a starter activity, students can match up the pictures to the description and name of the resource. This could be completed on the interactive white board or printed and given to students as a short starter activity.
Non-renewable and renewable energy resources covered.
Fact sheet produced for students of all ability. Students should memorise all facts on sheet on sheet in preparation for their B2 Biology exam. They could highlight, tick off and annotate fact sheet. Facts should match up with key points from markscheme.
