Two great worksheets accompanied with 2 Powerpoints including the answers. They were used with YR 9 but I’ve also used them with yr 11.
On worksheet has an exercise that students have to match up, phrases which can be used when describing a picture. The tense needed has been explained on the powerpoint. Students then use the examples to write their own description on the photo. There are then some translations to do and a writing task which involves students extending the sentences by using connectives, intensifiers and opinions.
The second worksheet contains 2 texts which students have to compare, pick out the best one and explain why. They then have to do an exercise on intenfiers, opinion phrases and some work on the negative. Then they have to match up the time expressions, list as many adjectives as they can and then write a paragraph on their free time using everything from the sheet.
These 2 worksheets are great for assessment revision. Even for GCSE writing.
1st activity is a video on Spain’s lost children - answer the questions.
2nd activity - read the text and answer the questions. Then find the words in the text.
