Here is a 6 page play script set during WWII. There are 21 parts in the play, some can be combined others can be split where needed. The story begins in a small rural village in Britain, where the parishioners must decide whether or not to take in evacuees coming from the city. There are plenty of learning opportunities with this script and lots of key WWII vocabulary for the children to learn.

This is a play script I used for a Year 4 class assembly. The theme is Persistence and is centered around authors, specifically Roald Dahl, J.K Rowling and Dr. Seuss. It is a perfect play to use for Book Week. The performance has a cast of 24 students (parts can be combined or split if needed). The play lasts around 30 minutes and includes two songs and a dance routine. The different roles gives opportunities to all students from the dramatic ones to the more reserved. I hope your class enjoys it as much as mine did!

Britain since 1948 Assembly

This script was written to be performed at the end of the humanities unit, Britain since 1948. The story follows Catherine and Oliver, two pre-teens sent to spend their summer with their grandparents. Through Grandad’s stories, we see his experiences of keys event in each decade. There are two poems included in the script as well as 6 suggested songs. The whole performance takes about 40-50 minutes. There are 22 roles but I recommend that the characters of Annie and Michael are played by different characters to show them transition from children to adults. As I had a very large cast I also had different actors play the main characters in each scene. For continuity they just wore the same costume. As an option you can also have 3 actors act out the Beatle-Mania poem. I hope your class enjoys the performance!

The skills are listening, speaking, motivation, confidence, cooperation, organisation, responsibility. An exercise to review the class rules This is an exercise I gave students if they forgot some of the rules of the Drama class. It includes a comprehension outlining the rules, questions and a composition based on what they have learned from the exercise and how they plan to use it to move forward. There is a question sheet for junior primary and senior primary. An end of year reflections exercise This reflection was given to the students in the last lesson of the year. It was an opportunity to reflect on all they learned, the skills they improved, the games they enjoyed and also allowed them to focus on their targets for the next year.
