First page of the Spanish version of Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone is used in this resource to get students to practise different reading strategies: prediction, anticipation, skimming, scanning and decoding.
As part of Theme 1 (La evolución de la sociedad española) in the Edexcel scheme of work, I created this two-hour lesson to discuss the role of grandparents.

This worksheet includes:
10 short paragraphs about why learning another language is important
5 follow-up exercises with instructions in Spanish to test students’ reading skills and one exercise to allow students to write their own opinion about why learning a language is important, using the vocabulary seen.
Two sample bullet points (not full tasks) for each GCSE theme and sample answers to analyse all the good vocabulary and structures to include. I’ve created a worksheet for students and a ppt (with answers) to deliver the lesson in class.
Looking for different ways to help students, I saw on Twitter the idea of a ladder reflecting elements needed for grades.
It starts with an easy present tense sentence and finishes with a sentence which includes an indirect object pronoun.
This resource can be used at the start of a lesson, to test how much students know on a particular subject or can be given as homework for students to work independently.

I came up with some sample sentences for students to refer to past and future on the topic of school.
This resource can be particularly useful for those students who struggle to manipulate verbs - you could ask them to memorise a couple of sentences for each topic in preparation for their speaking or writing exam.

The song Resistiré has turned into an anthem in Spain. I created this resource for students to start by listening to the song and then some basics about the subjunctive mood.
There are 7 questions in total and all answers are included.

This resource explores the strong sense of manliness in reggaeton lyrics.
It analyses both negatives and positives and it’s very current.
Skills practised: reading, writing and translation. If done in class, speaking will definitely be practised with some open questions at the end.
I created this booklet to allow students to practise their speaking skills, in particular the picture-based task, with a cultural focus. The pictures used are all famous paintings found in the Museo del Prado in Spain.
