The 1st round of the French Presidential elections is done. The French have voted for their 2 favorite candidates. They have 15 days to convince the French with their political visions and programmes. However, this is sometimes a little bit tricky to explain to our students who may have little knowledge about the politics or about the electoral process. This resource will help you teach about the elections by putting the results into the French context and by explaining the birth of each political party and the programmes of these two potential presidential leaders. This resource totally in English is aimed at intermediate-advanced level students. This resource contains a PPT with 25 slides with different activities with videos, questions and articles. It also contains a booklet with 11 pages for students so that they can keep a track of their learning. All the activities are corrected to save you time. Here's what you will get: 1. a matching up activity with the 5 main political parties that were competing (texts with main ideas and political trends). 2. a true/false activity about the political campaign 3. an interview with Marine Le Pen followed by questions 4. Marine Le Pen’s video clip with questions to help students develop their critical thinking skills 5. A mini-biography to reorder about Marine Le Pen 6. A reading about the history of the FN and how it is presented now 7. An interview about Emmanuel Macron and his program with questions, again to let your students think about the his programme and vision 8. A brainstorming about what students may know about him 10. a mini-biography to reorder about Emmanuel Macron 11. A text giving some insight about his Party En Marche 12. The results as a conclusion Enjoy. I am sure it will help you teach about the elections and their importance not only in France but also on the international scene. I suggest you also use this resource that gives you a clear idea of the political system in France. French Election System

Teaching beginners in English is great fun but there is so much content to teach that we are not always clear where to start. How about having the context, the vocabulary and the grammar in just one place with explanations, exercises and feedback? This flexible resource will help you teach young adults and adults about family, physical description (face and shape) and a grammar point about the verb HAVE. This resource is aimed at helping teachers to complement their textbook or to give enough material for those who are not lucky enough to have access to ESL textbooks/material. The resource contains a powerpoint with 31 slides with clear explanations at the bottom of each one of them to give you a step-by-step explanation about the progression of the lesson. The exercises are corrected to save you time! The resource also contains an activity booklet for students with 12 pages so that they keep a record of their learning. The approach is communicative with 2 listening activities and multiple opportunities for speaking to allow students to develop their speaking skills but it also contains a grammar point and interactive reading activities reinforced by exercises to consolidate their grammatical skills and writing skills. You will find different types of activities to allow a greater differentiation in your class: - A recap about personality adjectives and family members with a picture to label and a reading as a starter - A listening/reading with a matching up - Classification activities for adjectives - An introduction to descriptive elements of the face (eyes, hair) - A grammar point with the verb HAVE with examples - Exercises (matching up Q/A, filling gap) - Introduction to description elements of shape - A listening activity about a movie review - Interactive reading activities with a guessing game description - 2 writing activities - a word search as plenary - Review of objectives I suggest you use this resource after the ESL Unit 2 lesson 1 to help students structure their knowledge but you can easily use this resource on its own!
