I created this planning for a class of specific students with learning difficulties and behavioural issues. I have added quite a lot of differentiation throughout the planning to support students as the class has mixed abilities. Six lessons with videos and will include a couple PowerPoints to make life easier. I pulled the topic from the Science Primary Guide, to ensure I was meeting the correct expectations by topic. Loved teaching this topic, the students enjoyed the videos, and you will be surprised what the students already know. I took my students outside and on rainy days and days when we explored the oceans we created aquariums or matched words to the correct life in the ocean. 1: Life in the ocean 2: To recognise a variety of birds. 3: To recognise the differences between an amphibian and a reptile. 4: To recognise different types of minibeasts. 5: To recognise the difference between herbivores, carnivores. 6: To recognise differences between animals teeth. I created a quick piece of planning, including electronic resources. This took me a lot of time as the resources are clear, not overloaded and simple to use. Many resources available are complex and not suitable for students with low reading abilities, this is why I took the time and found these resources. A lesson created for a Year 11 Health and Social care class, focussing on unpredictable life events. Easy to adapt and dyslexia friendly PowerPoint.

I made this to explain to my students who is the Prime Minister, what the role of the Prime Minister is, and to explain what a law is in simple context. The learning objective is to explain what the government does. Independent and groups tasks. Plenary at the end. Use of images to help understanding. One task includes separating silly laws and real laws will include the hand out. This PowerPoint will cover the whole lesson.

This workbook includes separate activities relating to nouns, adjectives, fill in the missing word, sequencing, memory recall, listening activity, imaginative drawing, free writing and imaginative writing. The workbook includes large visuals to encourage attention and concentration. The print is in dark blue not black (dyslexia friendly). Most activities are differentiated giving students or yourself the option to write or cut and stick. Each activity is from the book scene by scene to consolidate learning. When I used this workbook, I incorporated a theatre trip to see The Twits and was thematic and created Mr Twits Beard in art! Happy teaching (I am a SEN Teacher) but I believe this resource will be beneficial in mainstream too!
