Page 2 continues to explore ‘pairs of twos numbers’ using the headphones throughout to make the question being asked clear to learners. Counting in 2s to 50 Game - Washing Line/Socks

(0)
What’s included? This download includes a game (for up to x6 players) to practise ‘counting in 2’s’ (up to 50) using pairs of socks as a helpful visual guide. Who’s it for? This resource has been designed for early years children, pupils in years one and two as well as older students needing additional learning support. To play this game the two resources included are both needed. Resource 1 details *Counting in 2’s ‘Sock number cards’ x5 ‘landscape orientation’ pdf sheets. The layout of all pages includes x3 rows and x4 columns of boxes each with pairs of socks from 0 to 50 (counting in 2’s). Before playing the game these are to be cut up (using the dotted guidelines), shuffled and placed face down in a grid to play the game. Printing these cards onto card (instead of paper!) will prevent the numbers being visible through the paper when placed face down to play the game (helping to increase ‘fairness’ and eliminate cheating!) Resource 2 *‘Washing Line Game Boards’ x6 ‘portrait orientation’ pdf sheets (x6 different colours - red/yellow/green/blue/purple/pink). The layout includes x3 rows and x3 columns of boxes on/in which to place a ‘Counting in 2’s Sock card’ as if socks are hanging on the washing line. Simple instructions (as well as what is needed to play the game) are included at the top of every ‘Washing Line’ game board. How to play the Washing Line Game take turns to select one sock number card from the grid collect and keep (on washing line board) sock cards which count in 2’s in sequence, for example… 6/8/10 (on the top washing line) and 22/24/26 on the lower washing line replace cards to the grid that don’t fit the chosen 2’s sequence and pass play to the next player first player to collect two sequences of three ‘Counting in 2’s’ wins! Game tips Remembering where exactly players return 2’s number cards to the grid will increase players chances of winning! to increase winning chances encourage players NOT to choose to keep the ‘same’ cards (showing the same sequence of counting in 2’s) as other players are collecting. Choosing to keep a different set of 2’s numbers is more likely to be a wiser, quicker way to win! There are not enough of every sock number card for everyone to successfully choose and use the same sock number cards for their sequences. Important message… ANY issues with any of this please don’t hesitate to let me know - I am happy to make changes AND I am happy to create a new resource if you have an idea just let me know - I’d love to hear from you! Phonics Phase 2 Picture Word Cards MDGOCK

What’s included? SET 2 x4 sheets (activities and answers) for Phase 2 Set 2 (letters - m d g o c k). Portrait orientation, pdf format. Who’s it for? This resource has been designed for early years children, pupils in years one as well as students needing additional learning support. What’s it for? This ‘Phase 2’ phonics practise activity set (2) has been designed to be a simple, predictable matching activity to promote independence and consolidate knowledge of the first TWO sets of letters/sounds introduced. This activity is ideal for individuals/groups to be getting on with independently. How to use it? The adult can pre-cut the x16 rectangular shaped picture (x8) and word cards (x8) - pages 1 and 2 (grey dotted lines guide where to cut) to separate them from each other. These x16 rectangles can then be shuffled and placed on a table top (shuffled) for learners to read and match together. Resource Details… The words on the word cards only use the letters s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g, o, c, k (from sets 1 AND 2) These words are: dog map pig cap pot mat pod cogs Learners may find ‘pod’, ‘cogs’ and ‘mat’ more tricky to match as these three words are not as obvious. ‘Pod’ may be a new word/concept to some learners (what a ‘pea’ grows inside of), learners may not know/be familiar with ‘cogs’ (or know what they are called) and may confuse ‘cat’ with ‘mat’ as the word they are looking for - to match the ‘mat’ picture card. I have included an orange arrow pointing to the ‘mat’ to hopefully help make this clearer. Special request ANY issues with any of this please don’t hesitate to let me know - I am happy to make changes AND I am happy to create a new resource if you have an idea just let me know - I’d love to hear from you! These words are: snap pin pants spin tin sit pan snip Learners may find ‘snip’, snap’, ’spin’ and ‘sit’ more tricky to match as these four cards do not link directly to a noun picture card. ‘Snap’ links to a ‘crocodile’, ‘snip’ to ‘scissors’, ’spin’ to a ‘globe’ and ‘sit’ to the cat which is ‘sitting’ on a chair. 2D Shape Eye Spy Counting Practise to 12

What’s included? x4 sheets, portrait orientation, pdf format. Who’s it for? This resource has been designed for children in the early years, pupils in years one and two as well as students needing additional learning support. What’s it for? This resource encourages learners to identify 2D shapes while practising counting (carefully and systematically) up to 12 objects. How to use it? Learners identify the x8 different 2D shapes hidden (on page 2) and once they have counted the total number of each shape (maximum number is 12) learners record this total amount on the recording sheet (page 1). Answers are provided on pages 3 and 4 in exactly the same layout for quick, easy reference - encouraging learners to be autonomous in checking their own work (carefully). Suggestion Encourage learners to use a different coloured crayon/felt tip pen when counting each different 2D shape (using page 2). This will make finding and counting each different 2D shape much easier and systematic for learners. Provide ‘answers sheets’ (pages 3 and 4) for groups to share and only once the 2D Shape Eye Spy activity has been completed! Special request ANY issues with any of this please don’t hesitate to let me know - I am happy to make changes AND I am happy to create a new resource if you have an idea just let me know - I’d love to hear from you!
