An English Reading Comprehension Activity. This resource gives the learner an overview of the inspirational Media TV Personality Caitlyn Jenner. Learners will be asked to answer 6 skimming and scanning questions based on the document. They will also be asked to look up 4 key words from the document. Answers are provided so that learners can self mark.

This is a twenty-four paged booklet that I designed for adult learners who were completing a Level 1 City and Guilds Employability/ Personal Social Skills Course. This booklet is for the ‘Equality and Diversity’ module. All the questions meet the qualification criteria. As a tutor you can either go through the booklet page by page, using it as the base for your lesson plan or give the learners the book as a research project. A fun game! When the Teacher says “Go,” the learners fill in the blanks with words that begin with the same letter. When they have finished they will shout “Pride!” Each answer is worth one point!

Learners with ask their partner to finish each word / phrase on their own game-sheet. They will predict what they will write and if their answers are the same, then they score points!

2X Pride themed word searches.

Pride month themed Taboo game. The objective of the game is for students to have their team member guess the word that is on the board behind them. They can’t say the word itself and in some circumstances, other words that are listed in relation to this word. Complete with instructions on how to play the game as a class and 35 separate Taboo slides. Slides contain LGBT celebrities, terms and other things associated with Pride.

Get your learners to create their own Pride emoji. This can be a good introduction to Pride month as you can discuss the colours used on the emoji’s face and what they represent. These are the same colours used in the Pride flag. My learners created their own emojis to put on our ‘Theme of the Month’ wall display: Pride Month.

Pride Bingo Game. The bingo sheet contains symbols associated with Pride. Cut out the squares on the grid sheet and place inside a container. Give each player a bingo card ( this is a 5 player game). As you draw a square from the hat, ask the players to cross them out on their grid sheet. The first player who gets 5 in a row, wins! YOUR PURCHASE INCLUDES: A4 game (X5) and grid sheet: 21 x 29.7cm. Their task is to fill in the jigsaw piece with things that represent their identity. Think of it as a Coat of Arms: which is a symbolic representation of an individual’s identity and values. They can add things in such as their hobbies, family, friends, pets, favourite books, TV shows, football teams or future goals.
