Mostly secondary maths resources here but you will find the odd English number sashaying in with jazz hands, occasionally followed by a primary resource cartwheeling behind. The resources are a mix of those I've used for tutoring (could be any age, any subject), those I've used in my training and those I've used in the classroom. As well as a few ideas that I needed to get out at 3am even though I have no use for them right away.

Times Tables Game

Times Tables Game

(0)
In all my years of tutoring and teaching, this is still the most requested game that I have made! Contains pdf and pub version (so you can edit as needed). Times tables from 2x to 15x and square numbers to 12 making it perfect from KS1 right through to KS4. Ideal for preparing for the Year 4 times tables check. Perfect pair work - just add a pair of dice! Also makes a great home learning task. Update April 2020: I’ve added in a PowerPoint version and a Google Slides version for use in virtual classrooms or even for suggesting your pupils use to play with each other while they’re at home to keep up their skills.
SATs Revision Maths Mat (Taster)

SATs Revision Maths Mat (Taster)

(1)
This two worksheet free taster of the full set of 40 worksheets contains questions to aid your year 6 pupils in their SATs revision. The questions are suitable for whole class usage as they span the entire KS2 curriculum. Opportunities for reasoning and literacy are on each sheet. The grid layout helps pupils to learn to move to a different question when they are struggling and that working in numerical order isn’t always the most natural thing; when faced with all the questions at once they can treat it as a pick n mix sheet, opting to answer the questions in the order they choose. Suitable to be used as a weekly homework across the year where you can measure progress in the build up to SATs with a reduced need to complete practice tests or as part of independent revision work in class as SATs week gets closer. Can also be used for slow grasping/ lower ability year 7 & 8 pupils.
Place Value: Multiply & Divide Decimals - Scaffolded Worksheet

Place Value: Multiply & Divide Decimals - Scaffolded Worksheet

(0)
Scaffolded worksheet that I used with a mid to low ability Year 7 group to build on place value to multiply and divide decimals, but absolutely perfect for KS3 & 4 as this often poses difficulty with foundation GCSE students. The worksheet features a worked example alongside an incomplete example. This makes it suitable to use for a “follow along” example in class; for a piece of catch up work, homework or revision; or even for use as part of a cover lesson.
One and Two Step Equations Grid
kfrazer92kfrazer92

One and Two Step Equations Grid

(0)
This grid 8x5 grid contains 40 different one and two step equations. The layout is designed such to be used in different ways. The most simple use is for repetitive practice early on as pupils can work through a progression of questions. Another use is a game of 4 in a row. Going head to head with peer, who can be the first to get 4 in a row? Or, projected onto a whiteboard (interactive or otherwise), it can be used as a whole class team game of Blockbusters (either two class teams or beat the teacher!). Who can create a path from left to right or top to bottom first? This works well because they get progressively more challenging going right to left and top to bottom meaning they can’t just choose the “easy” ones!

kfrazer92kfrazer92

Romeo and Juliet Revision Workbook

(0)
This revision workbook guides pupils’ revision for their GCSE English Literature exam on Romeo and Juliet. It helps them to organise their work into an easier to access format. The workbook can be completed within class alongisde their learning as they create their own revision guide or it can be set as an ongoing homework. The revision workbook also aids in AfL as it helps to identify areas within Romeo and Juliet that are needed for extra revision. It is a purely text focused book making it suitable for any exam board.
Casio fx-85GTX: Do you know your calculator?

Casio fx-85GTX: Do you know your calculator?

(1)
Great for getting pupils truly familiar with their calculator - especially year 7 who are probably using a scientific calculator for the first time. This worksheet is designed as an annotating activity for the Casio fx-85GTX which is recommended by exam boards. This is also great for coming up to GCSE exams as one thing that examiners seem to repeat is that candidates often don’t seem to know how to use their calculator to the best effect!
Basic angle facts recall starter

(0)

These are: angles on a straight line sum to 180 degrees angles around a point sum to 360 degrees vertically opposite angles are equal It features incomplete sentences for an element of literacy at the start of the lesson as well as 3 questions per fact, each of which is accompanied by an example that simply shows the size of the angles to help jog their memory!

Teacher Planner - Ideal for Trainee/ NQT

(0)
Teacher planner that is perfect for trainee teachers and NQTs. It has a pages for Monday to Friday plus a single page for the weekend. Each weekday is split into 5 lessons with before/ after school, break/ lunchtime and form period. If you would like these pages to follow a different format, let me know and I am happy to update the post. This is just the most common school day in my area. There are also pages for targets, lesson reflections and briefing/ meeting notes. These are perfect for you to fill in to not only gain an idea of where you are developing and what keeping track of what needs doing, but also for you to be able to use to collect evidence for your standards file (it’s what I am using them for!) There is also a list of the standards included. Simply print the pages that you want/ need and you have your own teacher planner. My preferred way to organised them is in a standard A4 ringbinder separated into each of the six halfterms.

This pack includes: Finding the nth term worksheet (Ascending) (& answers) Finding the nth term worksheet (Descending) Generating Sequences worksheet (& answers) nth term homework 1&2 (including term to term rule) Quick AfL PPT “what comes next?” I used it with mid to low ability year 7 classes but the differentiation within the worksheet means that the worksheets could be used for any KS3/KS4 class. AfL Confidence Rating
kfrazer92kfrazer92

AfL Confidence Rating

(0)
This pack contains three different resources. One set of tray labels for collecting books in. Pupils then assess their level of confidence in the lesson and put their book on the appropriate pile. This helps you to identify which books will need that extra amount of care when marking. One set of desk cards that pupils can use to show their confidence rating during the lesson. Either encourage them to place their eraser on the emoji that matches how they feel or when you are walking around you could build a routine where they simply point to how they are feeling at that time as you cast a cursory glance over their work One set of exit posters that pupils can put a a blank post-it on (or even a question or comment) as they leave the classroom to show how they are feeling about a topic or single lesson. This works well if you think your pupils will be more honest with anonymity or if the pupils are taking their work home. Each resource contains a Red/ Amber/ Green rating system which is accompanied by an emoji and words making it suitable across ages and ability levels and perfect for SEND classes. This is a very easy to implement AfL system that encourages pupils to take note of how they are feeling in relation to their learning.
Mathematical Vocab Matching Cards - over 100 words
kfrazer92kfrazer92

Mathematical Vocab Matching Cards - over 100 words

(0)
Matching activity in which pupils match the word to its definition. Some definitions contain words whose definitions are also included (such as integer etc.) so patience and teamwork is essential to complete the whole set. An ideal group - or even whole class - activity. Mathematical vocabulary includes words related to: shape, measure, number, ratio, data. If there are any words missing from the set, then let me know! I am more than happy to add to it! Ideal for schools working on a mastery curriculum.
Literary Devices Matching Activity
kfrazer92kfrazer92

Literary Devices Matching Activity

(0)
This resource contains 27 literary devices and their definitions as well as three column headings: device, definition, example. The example column is to be provided by the learners and can be done in relation to the texts that you are studying. Ensure that the cards are cut out in advance (or as a minimum cut the sheets into strips and get pupils to cut down further). This is simply because the definitions correspond to the device in the same location on each sheet. Because the definitions and devices can be matched easily from the uncut sheet, it makes this a brilliant task to be used during a cover lesson if a non-specialist is delivering the work. The front sheet provides visual instructions to support learners during the task.
Wordsearch: Triangles and Quadrilaterals
kfrazer92kfrazer92

Wordsearch: Triangles and Quadrilaterals

(0)
A wordsearch for the names of special quadrilaterals and triangles. Includes two versions for differentiation. One has the names of the shapes included and the other simply instructs to find the names of the quadrilaterals and triangles they have been learning about that week (this version has a few red herrings thrown in). Even though the two wordsearches look different, the words to be found are in the same place in each - making it easy to use both versions of the sheet in the same class.
