A pack of reading comprehensions linked to all the teams taking part in the Premier League for the season 2021-22.
Included is a fact file for all 20 teams that are competing with information up to date as of the start of the season (information and images courtesy of Wikipedia).
Matching each fact file is a comprehension task of 11 questions that links to the text, as well as an answer sheet that is provided, providing 20 different tasks and 220 different questions to help develop comprehension skills.
Tasks can be used in a range of ways including as stand alone reading tasks, as a series of reading lessons, as a reading task to be doing when they come in or even for home learning or homework.

A fully-resourced double lesson that focuses on introducing expanded noun phrases.
The first lesson focuses on being able to identify the determiner, adjective/s and nouns before taking examples of expanded noun-phrases and placing them in sentences.
The second lesson then follows up by working on creating examples of expanded noun-phrases from images and given noun phrases.
Each lesson includes a lesson PowerPoint that provides the opportunity to teach, discuss and practice key areas before then moving on to independent activities which include answer sheets where relevant (some don’t due to the open nature of answers.)

A fully resourced lesson that focuses on being able to introduce determiners/ articles with the, a and an with a major focus of the lesson then being on whether to use a or an based on vowel and consonant sounds.

A fully-resourced unit of work linked to information texts about plants with ten lessons looking at identifying features and being able to create written information texts.
Included in the 10 lesson sequence is a PowerPoint with all the lessons included within as well as any supporting resources needed. This includes:
Lesson 1 - Looking at the organisational features of an information text and identifying these within given examples. There are three different example texts included to support this as well as a modelled example.
Lesson 2 - Looking at the important role sub-headings play and then being able to create sub-headings where these have been taken out in example information texts. Included is also a support sheet with potential examples for anyone who struggles.
Lesson 3 - Paragraphs - This lesson focuses on being able to sort information based on the topic it has. This will include some practice as well as then being able to sort different sentences into which one of the three paragraphs it would fit into.
Lesson 4 - Planning and making notes. This lesson focuses on being able to plan and make notes ready to turn into an information text. Included is a planning sheet, example texts that can be used to gather information (alongside books and internet research potentially) and a model planning sheet that shows how to write in notes and bullet point format. This lesson can easily be extended into two lessons if necessary to gather enough information.

Lesson 6 - Writing the first main paragraph

Lesson 8 - Writing the third main paragraph

The final set of lessons from lesson 5 onwards follow the same pattern of showing an example of that paragraph style from the text, an opportunity to write one together as a class before then giving children time to write their own paragraph and edit. There is an editing sheet with prompts to support some key areas for children to check. This then finishes with children publishing their work, deciding on the layout they wish to use. To support this, some images are included that they can cut out and use within their finished piece should they wish.
