A set of lesson understanding structures and how to make them. This is based on the topic of ‘Stig of the Dump’ and designing useful product to help ‘Stig’ in his ‘Dump’. At the end of the unit they can attempt to make bridges using spaghetti (instructions attached) and use weight to determine the strongest bridge made.

A KS2 set of lessons based on Ancient Greek Mythology of the minotaur. The children design their Minotaur and Theseus and create a moving part attached to it as a lever controlling one part of the characters. For example; the horns, the sword. They then perform a script that they have written in their English lessons as a shadow puppet performance using their creations.

A unit based on creating appealing moving mechanical pieces of work. This particular was based around a topic of Earth and Space. There are some resources in here, for the childrens’ research purposes, that are not my own but online resources to support the lessons. The rest is completely created myself. Objectives across 3 or 4 lessons covered: I can use my research to inform my design. I can draw cross-sectional and exploded diagrams to show further detail in my design. To create a collection of appealing moving mechanical animals in space models that will captivate peoples interest. I can use information booklets to research animals in space. I can gather ideas and explain how they move to inform my design. I can gather ideas and explain their appearance and position in space to inform my design.

Two lessons exploring Earth and Space through pointillism. You may like to teach a history behind this before introducing these lessons. It gives one session of creating a plain blank background, including space colours of galaxies. Then the next, create a pointillism piece on top of this once dry.

Lesson 2 - A KS2 lesson carrying out a comparative fair test with hot drinks, which material keeps the drinks the hottest for longest. This resource includes: A Green sheet - LA/WTS ARE An Orange sheet - MA/EXS ARE An Extension Task A ‘Gaming Add-on’ information table (Game title, add-on name, price) including the games: Fortnite, Roblox, Minecraft. The children need to choose which add-ons they want to buy and then subtract it from their £20 budget. A fun lesson with subtracting decimal with a different number of decimal places. Definitely captures the attention of those with low motivation and independence! Each sheet increases with difficulty.
