A set of construction area cards focusing specifically on the key vocabulary set out in the KS1 National Curriculum. Each card features one of the terms alongside a picture- perfect for giving children the opportunity to build their own models and use the relevant vocabulary.
The download includes both publisher and pdf files so fonts etc can be changed if needed.
The pack includes a set of human feature cards, physical feature cards and word card labels for each of the terms. These are great for children to independently label their own constructions- particularly if they have multiple elements e.g. a seaside town with a harbour, beach, coastline, hill and vegetation for example.
A resource I have used both in my maths area and creative area as an independent task to support the children’s understanding and recognition of numbers within 20.
The children have to write the number, draw the counters for the number onto the tens frame, stick some objects onto the sheet to represent the number e.g. stickers, sequins, buttons and then draw a picture to represent the number e.g. 5 flowers.
A poster to display in the classroom to show children the various different ways that they can sit on the carpet.
Good to have on display at the front of the room as a visual reminder.
Downloadable as a pdf file only so cannot be edited.
A something is wrong communication board
Perfect for children who struggle to verbalise what is wrong and products a non-verbal cue for staff to know how they can help a particular child.
I’ll be popping mine in a wipeable sleeve so the child can tick whichever one they feel is wrong using a whiteboard pen.
Inspired by resources used by goodmorningmissfoster.
Please note: Comes as a pdf document so cannot be edited
A fabulous full set of Year 5 and Year 6 statutory word cards and alphabet display lettering in shades of green!
A great way to display the words in the classroom so that the children can become independent in finding out how to spell them. In my classroom I have grouped all the cards together beginning with the same letter and attached them together using a keyring. They are then hug on my english working wall below the corresponding alphabet letter circle for the children to access independently.
A fabulous full set of Year 3 and Year 4 common exception words and alphabet display lettering in shades of green!

A set of construction area headings.
They are titled ‘research it’, ‘design it’, ‘build it’ ‘save it’ and photograph it. The idea is that these cards will help you to designate certain spaces within your construction area for the different aspects of the designing and building of different models and structures.
Only available in PDF form as they were made on canva- they cannot be edited to be a different font/size/colour etc.
Also comes with design sheet templates which can also be used for children to draw their designs on before building. Again this is in PDF format only.

All the lettering and definitions needed to create a science display for KS1 on properties of materials.
The property cards include shiny, dull, opaque, transparent, hard, soft, rigid, flexible, absorbent, waterproof, smooth and rough.
The definition cards give a short phrase to explain what the property means e.g. cannot be seen through, repels water and liquids etc
See my page for ideas of how to set out your display.
A set of six door greeting cards to welcome the children into your classroom each day.
Includes: handshake, high five, hug, fist bump, wave and a way of their choice.
A fab way to build up positive and trusting relationships with children in your class.
Also comes with the sign ‘How shall we greet each other today?’
Available as pdf and editable versions.
Golden time chart starting at 30 minutes and working down to no golden time in 5 minute increments.
The idea is that the children each have one of these cards in their drawer/tray/folder with a photgraph of their face cut out. At the beginning of the week they put their face onto 30 mins. If they lose any golden time, they have to move their face on their chart.
Having individual charts rather than a whole class chart minimises humiliation for a child who has lost any golden time. I also keep a separate log of how many minutes children have lost in a notepad on my desk (in case any children don’t move their name correctly)
A full set of phonics cards strips showing each of the sounds taught across Year 2. We follow Sounds Write so these are in line with the way in which their programme.
Each strip shows all of the sounds taught in a particular unit along with a word in brackets to demonstrate the use of that spelling of the sound e.g. a (apron), ey (prey) a-e (mane) etc.
Perfect to aid children in their independence at selecting the correct spelling of a sound. I have put mine onto a keyring and put copies on each table for the children to refer to.
Comes as a pdf and word document in the download.
A full set of all of the sounds taught in Year 1- we follow the Sounds Write programme so I have made these to fit in with that scheme however they can be adapted for any scheme/sound family etc.
Each card strip displays all of the sounds within a unit with a word in brackets to demonstrate use of the sound e.g. ay (hay), er (herb), igh (fight) etc.
Perfect for aiding children with their independence in being able to select which spelling they think they need for a particular sound.
The download includes both word document and pdf file.
Kindness note templates that can be written by staff to give to children in the classroom or for the children to write to one another.
