My students were year 8 mixed-low ability and were so engaged during this lesson - they loved it, so I thought I’d share! The lesson: Starter - picture analysis Several slides - short and long term causes of French Revolution. ***** Students fill in sheets throughout lesson making notes on the short and long term causes, and the contemporary set up of society. Lots of images/key facts **** Video linked to Dear Diary activity - students imagine they are a peasant before the revolution. This was a great way to get students to engage with the facts, and get underneath the skin of them to understand what happened. I was so impressed with their creativity and understanding. I created this lesson to link to the new AQA A level coursebook under ‘La Identidad Regional: La gastronomía’.
