AS Level project which can be used as a standalone activity or can be used to produce the sample work required for the AQA INFO1 examination. There is a scenario which has been structured to be open ended for differentiation and a presentation which guides the students through the process. There is a checklist included which can be used if using this resource to produce sample work for the exam. Enjoy.
This set of resources includes an overview for a 2 year Key Stage 3 which is broken down into Digital Literacy, Computing and Information Technology. The assessment sheets are intended to be used throughout the delivery of the topics and can easily be adapted to suit the specifics of the topics delivered in your school. At the start of the topics the sheets are given out to the pupils and they set themselves 2 targets and an overall level based upon what they will study. The sheets allow you to tick off or sign when you have seen the work completed by the pupil to save time when levelling at the end of the topic. At the end of the topic the sheets are used to allow the teacher to provide effective written feedback which is reflected upon and then responded by the pupil. Literacy keywords are embedded in the documents to allow you to comply with your whole school literacy policy easily and also to use these for homework, bingo, crossword starters etc.
Self contained presentation which enables you to teach the basics behind graphics before using Fireworks etc. Contains a starter activity and tasks, suitable for all levels.
Allows toy to teach the class how to set up and use a simple Visual Basic login screen. The code for the button event can be pasted in from the work document or the .PDF version can be made available on your network if you want the class to type in manually.
This task provides a step by step guide to allow students to create their own text editor similar to notepad. They follow the guidance in the presentation to create their own text editor and all source code is provided to be used where appropriate. The presentation shows them how to publish the application with the intention that they will install it at home for their family to use as Beta testers. There is also a additional presentation which is to be used to check their understanding of the programme that they have just created. The idea is that they answer and add content to the PowerPoint before saving it as a video for the teacher to view. The questions in this presentation are structured to provide challenge to a range of ability's. I estimate that these materials could form the basis for 3 - 5 lessons and the price reflects the time spent to create the resources : - )
Lesson plan and three tasks. The lesson is based around 3 x10 minute group tasks on Network, Legislation and Computer Threats. Each activity can be used as a stand alone resource for a starter or plenary etc.
If you used to be an ICT teacher but are now forced to teach computing then this resource is for you!
This is a lesson that will allow you to teach pupils how to create a simple calculator in Visual Basic. There is also a starter or plenary Bingo activity complete with call list and the VB code which should allow you to quickly set up an exemplar to show tot he class.
The presentation is structured in an easy to follow way in stages that can be delivered from the front of the classroom or accessed individually by the students. There are screen shots to help and also things to tell the students to look out for in the speaker notes part of the presentation with guidance on extending the task for more able pupils.
