This is an introductory lecture to students studying Quantitative research methods in Education. The objective of this lesson is to:
# Distinguish descriptive and inferential
# Differentiate between qualitative and quantitative data;
# Distinguish nominal and ordinal data (as well as level of achievement and ranking); and
# Discriminate between discrete and continuous data
# Differentiate dependent and independent variables
# Operational Definition of Variables
These are overhead slides which can be used as transparencies in classroom teaching. The slides cover functions, area and its applications, logarithmic rules, sequences, Rules of limits and transformations of functions. Most important concepts written concisely.
These can also be used as a classroom display or posters for each slide. Especially useful for high school and undergraduates studying Calculus (using the book 'Calculus- concepts & contexts Stewart: 4th Ed).
This resource is for BTEC: UNIT 8 – Using Statistics for Science under LO2: Correlation Testing (P4, M4, D4)
In this lesson, students will learn how to:
Interpret scatter diagrams for bivariate data.
Calculate and interpret the value of the product-moment correlation coefficient.
Perform a significance test for r, the product moment correlation coefficient.
Use the table of critical values for correlation coefficients.
For BTEC: UNIT 8 – Using Statistics for Science
LO2: Chi – Square lesson notes (P2, M2, D2)
In this resource, students will learn
- About the χ2 distribution.
- How to use χ2 tables and workout the number of degrees of freedom, ν (pronounced, “Nu)
- How to perform a χ2 test for independence between variables, using a contingency table.
The product contains a set of Mechanics (M1) Extension Worksheets from Edexcel AL Specification for the gifted learners. The worksheets contain topic based questions from the following topics.
+ Kinematics (questions involving more than one object; SUVAT formulae)
+ Connected particles (problems in which the motion changes, problems involving double wedges, problems involving lifts, pulley attached at two ends of a table, problems involving a helicopter)
+ Momentum and Impulse (Gun firing a bullet, Impulsive tension)
+ Moment of a force (Equilibrium under parallel forces)
Suitable for all Examination Boards, teachers can use these worksheets to discover the potential of talented and gifted learners and push them to reach for an A/A* grade in Mechanics (M1) paper and get further practice.
Answer keys are included for each worksheet.
