A cycle of work lasting 2-4 lessons (depending on which resources are used) looking at the ummah, six articles of faith, The five roots of religion in Usal ad-Din in Shi’a Islam, differences between Sunni and Shi’a as well as overlapping key beliefs etc. For Islam - Beliefs and Teachings Eduqas 1-9 GCSE. There is the option of using BBC’s documentary on Muslims like us, which whilst produced to make ‘good television’ contains some good topics for debate and some good background information.

It then explores religious views on euthanasia before looking at a famous rugby player whose faith helped him until the end. Human Rights GCSE Religious Studies (designed for Eduqas)/Wjec).
