Multi-Step Equations - Matching & Assembling a PUZZLE Activity

(0)
This is a fun digital matching and puzzle assembling activity on solving multi-step equations. On the first slide there are given a total of 12 problems numbered with 1a,2a,3a,4a,1b,2b,3b,4b,1c,2c,3c, and 4c. On the second slide the answers of the problems are given in random order. Students have to type the number of each problem next to its answer in the empty box provided (matching). There is also a piece of a puzzle corresponding to each answer. Students are asked to copy each piece, paste it and then drag and drop it into the cell of the rectangle (given on the third slide) numbered with the number of the problem having for an answer the answer to which this piece corresponds. Answer keys are contained at the end of this document (on two slides). The file I have uploaded here is a Power Point Presentation.

Solving Quadratic Equations with Real & Complex Roots - Password Search Activity

(0)
The activity practices solving quadratic equations with real (rational and irrational) and complex roots. There are included quadratics in standard and vertex form, though more of the equations have terms on both sides. Students will need to simplify algebraic expressions use the formula for the product of the sum and difference of the same two terms They are asked to solve the equations by the most appropriate method. Activity Directions: Students solve 12 quadratic equations. They use a given table to find which character (letter, number or sign) corresponds to each of their answers and fill in another table to obtain a funny password. Students tell the password to the teacher. If it is correct, then they have solved all equations right. Answer keys are included.

Linear Equations in One Variable - Multiple-Choice Space Activity

(0)
This is a multiple-choice activity on solving linear equations in one variable. The resource is great for advanced practice containing 8 challenging equations. The problem slides are four as on each slide students are provided with 2 equations. Choosing which between four optional answers is correct, students will find out and learn to which constellation between four a red/blue giant star given its name belongs, to which constellation between four a white/red dwarf star given its name belongs, which between four planets is an ice giant, which between four planets is a gas giant, which of four constellations is the largest and which between four asteroids is largest by diameter. Thus this activity stimulates students interests in both algebra and astronomy. Students circle the letters of the chosen answers. Answer key is included. NOTE: I created this product in Google Slides. I uploaded it here in PDF format as I have included 2 PDF files - the one has each slide as a page and the other has four slides on a page for easy and more economic printing!

Multi-step Inequalities - "Three Cases" Practice (30 problems)

(0)
In this activity, students will solve multi-step/linear inequalities with one variable. Almost all of the problems require students to distribute before solving the problem. Students are required to give both inequality and interval notation forms of the solution. On each slide there are given three inequalities as one of the inequalities has the solution set of all real numbers, another has the empty set (no solution) and the last one has a concrete interval as solutions (three cases). The slides with problems are 10. The slides can be used as task cards for independent work or students can work in group of three. It is also possible for students to work in pairs as one of the partners will solve the problems of 5 slides/cards and the other partner will solve the inequalities of the other 5 cards. Partners can choose who on which cards to work. The answer keys are included (on the last slide). NOTE: I created this product with Google Slides. I uploaded it here in PDF format as I have included 2 PDF files - the one has each slide as a page and the other has four and three slides on a page for easy and more economic printing!

They have to solve them and show that all the equations are equivalent. Partners have the opportunity to help each other with methods and check whether their work independently and as a group is correct. The problems are challenging and increase in difficulty with each next slide. This activity can be also used as independent practice and homework. Answer keys are included. NOTE: I created this product in Google Slides. Multi-Step Inequalities -"Chase the Clouds Away" Matching Game

(0)
This is a fun matching game for Google Slides on solving multi - step inequalities. There are 4 slides with problems. On each slide students are given 4 inequalities to solve and a picture of a sun and five clouds. Students search for their answers written on the clouds and if they find their answer written on a cloud then they “chase the cloud away” crossing it out (students have to be careful to not cross out the answer written on the cloud). Then students are asked to match the problems with their solutions. Students can draw identical characters to mark the inequality and its solution or they can draw curved line to joint the problem and its solution. Student find out that on each slide there is one cloud that can not be chased away (the answer written on it is not solution to any of the problems). Answer keys are included. NOTE: I created this product in Google Slides. I uploaded it here in PDF format as I have included 2 PDF files - the one has each slide as a page and the other has the fourth slides on a page for easy and more economic printing!
