Primary PowerPoint and Paper-Based Book Quiz (includes answers).
Updated for 2024.
A quiz created for Book Day with a book theme to share with your class
The PowerPoint version can be used alongside the paper quiz if you want to complete together, or to read out the questions, or as a whole class activity. The answers are revealed at the end of the PPt, following each question but you can easily rearrange the slides if you want them to show the answers as you go.
The paper version is designed to be printed out and given to pupils to work through - the questions relate to books from across the primary age range so is ideal for mixed-age challenges.
This 25 question quiz could also be used as a homework task to encourage family engagement, or as a fund-raiser.
Answers provided.
This 70 page handwriting booklet has been made to support pupils with developing and improving their cursive handwriting, whilst practising their knowledge of spelling patterns and phonics.
Each page focuses on a specific sound / spelling pattern.
This can be displayed on an interactive whiteboard for modelling / demonstration, or photocopied as a pupil booklet. I use it both ways.
I originally created this for use in Year 2, but I have used it with all age groups including Year 6.
Great as a homework pack for pupils needing extra practise, or for use as an intervention, or just for independent morning work, etc.
Whole class reading resource based on the VIPERS reading skills: vocabulary, inference, prediction, explanation, retrieval and summarise.
This is a free sample to give a taster of what to expect from my complete 6-week unit which is available separately and comprises of a PowerPoint with weekly plans and daily resources, focusing on a specific reading skill each day. The resources are included as PDFs that can be printed off for completion by students.
Complete 6 week unit available here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-12510624
This is a 53-slide PowerPoint to use with a whole class whilst reading the text Holes by Louis Sachar.
The Powerpoint contains six weeks of plans and slides showing the tasks to be completed.
The tasks cover the VIPERs reading skills Vocab, Infer, Predict, Explain, Retrieve and Summarise.
The tasks are also included as separate documents for ease of use.
At the end of the Ppt is a 45 question quiz, with answers included.
I have a free sample of this resource to show an example of the plan and skills-based materials here, so you can try before you buy:
