In this lesson, I use the popular game of Magic: The Gathering to introduce students to storytelling in fairy-tales and the composition used in images. The activity asks students to identify the composition types used with examples. In this mini-project, we investigate Hazza Al Mansouri, the first Emirati Astronaut on-board the ISS by considering what his view of Earth would look like. By examining a relevant artist and producing Artist Research, students will produce a piece using an image taken from Space and complete an Artist Response.
