A night on the bare mountain Listening Map
To be used alongside the BBC Ten Pieces film and resources. Watch the Art Ninja video to give the children the idea of responding to music through art. Using the template (with markers to signpost the way!) draw and annotate how you wish- instruments, sounds, moods, techniques, storylines etc.

Give each pair a sheet and four different colours.
Talk through any new vocabulary.
Colour each basket in a different colour.
Find three cockles/mussels with statements that describe the music and colour them to match the basket.

Spring Listening - match and colour activity

These is a paired/group activity that follows on from my You Tube video: Sing it, sign it, tap it, play it! do-re-mi songs
Cut out the ‘building blocks’ and choose four to make up your melody. Try different ideas. Which blocks work well as the opening? Which makes your melody sound finished?
When you’re happy with it, stick the four building blocks down. Can you write out your melody on a stave?
